Republicans are striking out in fear of next election...
They are personally attacking the Democratic leaders for comments they have made, rather than scrutinizing their own support for the failed policies of their failed leader, George W Bush. They see the polls. Support for the war in Iraq is now in the 39% range. Even more people disapprove of the job Congress is doing. The fear and paranoia is creeping into the Republican Party and they are lashing out at the Democrats for their own failures.

They are hoping that their attacks will go unanswered and the people will take their attacks upon the Democrats as the truth and the people will re-elect them in next years elections. However, when the Democrats respond, it terribly discombobulates their plans. They get defensive and aggressive and resort to personal attacks and distortions. They are a pitiful lot and have done great damage to our country.

2. Smear the opponent, the republican way under the leadership
of KKKarl Rove.

That is the trait that KKKarl uses to get his candidates a win and those methods have been adopted by all repukes running for office, from the lowly dog catcher to bu$h.
Until the American people wise up to their tricks they will continue to use this method.

3. You are so right--am glad you pointed this out.--
Now they are even going after Bill Richardson(New MExico Governor).. Up until now he has ben one o the darling of the Republicans. When I
heard V. Verbes(Hotline) on Washington Journal this A M--
He said the Republicans are after Richardson.

IMO this confirms they are after any of the Dem. Leaders.
Tear the Dems down to get the focus off us(Republicans).and their
failures of the moment. Richarsson is a stretch and absolutely
confirms their motives.

4. That is Page 1 in the Rove Textbook
Smear the Opponent
Take the Opponent's apparent strength and twist into an apparent weakness (ala - Kerry's Military Service)

No lie is too big to tell.

Viktory is the only thing that matters to KKKarl.

5. Yes, you are absolutely right...

The Dems have to stand firm and not back down or apologize every time the RW noise machine starts to turn up the heat. Apologies are what feeds the beast...not backing down and standing firm might not stop the attack dogs, but they will increasing look toothless and weak.

The centrist Dem apologists who cowed regarding the Dean and Durbin comments have to stop and realize you are dealing with people who will stop at nothing to destroy the opposition. Stand firm and the propaganda cannons will backfire.

6. Yup, which should inform our behavior
Let's face it, the Republican house of cards is getting hit by the stiff breeze of reality. That means when the mightly Republican Wurlitzer cranks up and starts battering a Democrat for telling the truth, we need to stand with our friends and allies. The Republicans didn't just have the power they have handed to them; they fought, scratched, clawed, kicked, bit and sucker-punched every step of the way. They will fall from power with the same grace.

That means you're going to take a hit from these arrogant bastards. So am I. If we stick together, we'll be that much more able to undo the damage done by the Republicans. Let's worry about who was timid and who was bold later on down the line. For now, let's give 'em a taste of their own medicine (they won't like it), and work to put our country back on the right track, with liberty and justice for all.
