Edgar Ray Killen found guilty! |
|
Frankly I was a little surprised, coming out of Mississippi. Although it was only on a charge of manslaughter, the 80 year old probably won't live out his sentence. So justice, while limited, has been done.
Does this signal a more progressive movement in the South? Here's hoping. :toast:

1. The Defendant was "VISIBLY SHAKEN" |

when the verdict was read. I just hate it when a klansmen gets found guilty of killing and is visibly shaken. I hope he rots on earth and then burns in hell.
41 years ago today the three victims went missing.
Things in the south are better than they were 40 years ago but the klan still has a presence in Mississippi. They chose to keep a low profile during the trial for fear they would hurt killen's case.
And please all keep in mind the KU KLUX KLAN IS PART OF BUSH'S BASE.

The Klan was a "peaceful" organization that "did a lot of good!"

4. The appeals will take years. |

I don't know how much longer that guy has. He's on oxygen and is in his 80's. Anyway, it's always heartening to see justice being done in this banana republic.
