C-Span! Waxman/Pelosi Just called for Independent Investigation/Gitmo,

House Dems Call for Bi-Partisan Commission on extent of Us abuses of Prison Detainees and a clarification of criteria for designation of prisoner status in time of war

170 Members of Congress (Dems) have signed on for a Bill. Pelosi, Waxman, Harmon and Skelton are speaking about the need to keep America Safer by holding and investigations and establishing critera and accountabilty for our policy in holding these detainees. Also investigation into abuses and how high up the chain of command they go.

They are calling for us to Petition our Representatives to call for the immediate establishment of a Commission to investigate this. What is the "chain of command" Pelosi says.

Reporter asked how can Dems get support since they can't get anything done even though they petition. Pelosi said that the citizens have petitioned in the past and the 9/11 Victims managed to force a Bi-Partisan Commission to investigate what happened there.

Pelosi and Waxman were great when a couple of the "Media Whore Press" kept trying to get her to attack Senator Durbin for comments and to defend accusations by Delay that Pelosi and Durbin were unpatriotic and not supporting the troops. Both Pelosi and Waxman said "This is nothing but diversionary Repuglican Politics to take the heat off the publics disapproval of a war we went into without proper intelligence, preparation or planning to get out of. Waxman said Delay uses McCarthyite tactics to tar anyone asking questions as unpatriotic.

Both of them really gave it back to the two slimy reporters who kept trying to get them to defend themselves against Delay.

They need our help with contacting our Representatives and more petitions.

2. Gitmo's American Example
If a civilian dressed soldier or a CIA operative is working in a country for democracy, where it is considered treason (like it is in Red China), and then they are captured as terrorists, will they use President Bush’s example of Guantanamo? To imprison them without trail for infinity, holding them in secret for our government will deny they were ever there. Lost forever being questioned, by the examples we have given them to use, directly or indirectly by condoning it. Amnesty International and the Red Cross having been silenced by our own government’s censorship, to not face up to international criticism hoping it will disappear like WMD’s. That the public medium must bend like a Fox News dictated program. News being filtered by censors who act like communist reporters of Kremlin’s Soviet Russia. It seems we are using a lot of things that were condoned during that time.

3. Has anyone seen an announcement of this Dem "Press Release?"
I've been hitting Yahoo and Google...and can't find any reporting on it ..yet there were many reporters who asked questions in the Press Conference where this was broadcast on C-SPan and it was LIVE when I reported it.

NEWS BLACKOUT from "Mainstream Whore Media?" or... MSCM...i.e. "Mainstream Corporate Media?"

Disgusting...We Dems hold a Press Conference over Horrendous Prison Abuses by Rummy and Bush...and there's no interest.

:puke:

4. Where are all our Democratic Congressional Supporters on THIS ISSUE?
It's Big News but no news service, so far, has reported on it even though it was a BIG PRESS CONFERENCE that C-Span spent time covering?

And the "Whore Press" and "Moderate Press" was there posting questions which Pilosi, Waxman, Skelton answered in turn.

It was our DEMOCRATS STANDING UP FOR US...yet, there's so little interest on DU.

Is it the disillusionment thinking that Waxman/Pelosi's Proposal doesn't stand a chance of getting passed?

Is it the "burn out" from Conyer's hearings where there's been almost NO Coverage of the 565,000 folks who signed the petition and supported him by logging into the C-Span Feed or got it from other sources here on the Internet?

We can't give up. Waxman and Pelosi asked for our help to sign petitions and go after Congress to get these hearings going. Are we going to let them down because we are tired and disillusioned?

5. So Pelosi's not apologizing eh?
As they asked her to. Good.

I saw part of this. My favorite part was when they were talking about the war on terror taking 10, 20 or 30 years. Her response was, "So you're proposing we keep these people for 10, 20 or 30 years?" Yeah, somebody said it. Good for her.

Progressive Dem Platform that I've ever seen from her...today in that Press Conference that the "Whore Media" still refuses to cover ..nothing yet on Google News or Yahoo News about this HUGE CALL for Accountability for our Detainees and Reditions all over the world...from Gitmo to the rest of our "Shadow Dentention Centers" and the "Terror Plane."

I've never been a fan of Nancy Pelosi. But, today she did REALLY GOOD for us...and Waxman was as always excellent with the details. He said "over 1,400 inquiries into Clinton's Christmas Card List by the House and yet there's been only Five calls for House Investigations of Bush's policies since he took office. (these are not exact quotes but close to what I heard Waxman say.) One could Google "Clinton Christmas Card Investigation and get the exact number over 1,000 that Pelosi said and one could get the number of House Investigations since the "Emperor" assumed his thrown...but I think my numbers are pretty accurate from what I heard.)

7. I'd never even heard of Waxman until I found his name
on the House version of Kerry's health care bill. People in the Kerry forum tell me he's a good man to have co-sponsoring a bill, very knowledgeable.

I was pleased to see him and Pelosi today doing so well.

8. If Bush get's to Impeachment, Henry Waxman has IT ALL Catalogued!
He's been a dogged cataloger of all of Bush's lies, distortions, figures and numbers from this "Mis-Adminstration."

He's called time after time for Independent Investigations since the Chimp assumed his Thrown.

Thanks for checking him out. If you Google "Waxman calls for Investigation" you will get so many hits that you never heard about. I did a Google today trying to find any report of "Waxman/Pelosi Call for Prisoner Detainee Investigations" and got a full page of all of Waxman's efforts.

If only we Dems could have held the House we wouldn't be in this "Hell Hole' we are in today where they are cutting us off and the Press just laughs at us by showing up and throwing out insulting questions and then their "Employers" never even cover it. They "stick it in our eye" every chance they get.

Which says that all our efforts to get "DSM's" into the Press were worthwhile because with out our raucous voices they would have "rolled over and played dead..as usual." :-(

9. G-r-e-a-t, and the DSM has already been addressed??!!
I'm convinced that no-one can stop what Bush started in Iraq and no politicians want to make waves because of the oil.

As bad as Bush wants the oil-flo "contolled" in Iraq it saeems like the numbers of those signing up for suicide bombing missions is growing and the "terrorists" want to keep their thumbs on the second largest oil reserve in the world.

Prediction, February 2006 here comes the draft, we're thru mid-June and 1814 Dead US. troops, but get this! 1024 Iraqi soldiers & Police have been killed since January 2005 not counting 70+ killed since Sunday.
