The important issues still remain.... |
|
And those are the economy, the huge debt and deficits, the war in Iraq, the loss of jobs to overseas out-sourcing, the loss of our rights in the Patriot Act, the surrender of our stand for human rights, etc...
The divisive issues of what Durbin, or Reid, or Pelosi, or any other Democrat said that pissed off the right-wingers is only a diversion. Bolton is a diversion, relatively speaking, as are the anti-gay and anti-flag Amendments that are proposed by the Repubs. Let's not lose sight of the "big" issues. They have screwed up our country and if they can divide us up between pro and con-Bolton voters, then they win.

1. Those will remain as long as Republican's are the majority power. |

The Democrats need to limit the damage done. Every day the Republicans fixate on Bolton, Terri Schaivo, Durbin. etc. is one less day they have to screw up something else.

Democrats need to do a better job of articulating their/our vision for the future and how we're going to deal with the problems you listed. I've heard and read lots of nice talk over the last few years, but we seem short on specific and realistic ideas. There are a few things here and there like ending the tax incentive for company's to move overseas, but that seems like child's play compared to what we need.
