1. Of course being a Republican means never having to say you're sorry
and never having to accept one from a Democrat.

I don't think Durbin has anything to be sorry about. He spoke the truth.

5. I can not bear this one more minute! Why O Why O didn't Durbin
stand his ground just like Amnesty International? They did not give one inch and neither should Durbin.

16. Well, of course
what did we expect? You're not suppose to compare anything to the Holocaust.

10. As much as I don't think he said anything to apologize for
if his apology frees up the media of this non-issue to cover more important issues, such as the DSM, then it will almost be worth it.

12. Are there ANY, I mean *ANY* Democrats with a spine?
The Corporate News Media spins out the complaints like the DEDICATED "errand boy" of The Executive Branch. What do the Neo-Cons have over our Democratic Representatives that they heel and submit like lap dogs?

We need to vote these gutless wonders out and replace them with NON-millionaires who actually care about the Working American.

Dammit, this is just sick - there was NO REASON for Durbin to apologize. I wonder, what *exactly* made him fold. :puke:

19. It's NOT us, the people, but our gutless Democratic Representatives ...
They only care about maintaining their seats. Rove-Co. has them scared along with the Republican Noise Machine and WH Stenographers known as the USA Corporate Mass Media.

They care more about their jobs than standing up for the people they represent. "Gutless Wonders" I'd almost (make that almost!) rather have moderate republicans in their seats. At least I know what to expect from the opposition. :puke:

18. Maybe in the future our Dem leaders will not put their foot in their mouth
If you're gonna criticize the Republicans and what they do - do not, do NOT, DO NOT say anything that might be easily construed as if you're bashing American citizens in general.

Dean - dumb for not saying "Republican LEADERS".

Durbin - dumb for not simply saying "The BUSH WHITE HOUSE is forcing our soldiers to do unsavory things to prisoners."

Leave the stupid comments to the left-wing fringe element of the Democratic Party.

20. Yes, make sure the Democrats QUALIFY every damn thing while
the Right Wing republicans generalize to their heart's content unchallenged.

NO, it was not dumb. The populace knows exactly what both men meant. They allowed the noise of the media feeding frenzy intimidate them into apologizing. Get some courage or get voted out. I won't vote for a DINO. Damn the party, it may have to be built from the ground up after we trash these pretenders.

21. Good/bad...
Good - this might just take the attention away from Durbin and back on other matters like Gitmo and the DSMs.

Bad - The beast has been fed again.
