Suggestion: Contribute $ when they do well; go blackout when they cave. |
|
One of the great things that I've seen DU do is reward desired behaviors in our elected officials, such as the "Dean Speaks for Me" petition. I propose adding something else to the mix: when Democrats do not do what we are paying them to do, go into total blackout mode. This means not hitting their sites, not contributing, not calling, not volunteering--maybe for a day, maybe for a week. Then, at the end of the period, call or write them and explain why you did not do any of the aforementioned activities.
I think if this were a concerted, organized effort, then it might be effective. What do you think? For instance, if Pelosi is attacked by Frist tomorrow, and she wilts, we totally shut down, and then on Thursday they get 10,000 emails saying, "I was going to contribute $10, but I will not contribute to elected officials who apologize for telling the truth and standing up for our party."
Am I a divisive jackass, or what?
