Did any Republican ever apologized for offensive comments
against Clinton? For example, I remember a Southern Senator - Jesse Helms? - who "warned" Clinton not to visited his state.

4. The Republicans are histrionic complainers
with a chip on their shoulder.

I'm glad we're not stooping to that level but we need to be more forceful when we have a complaint. The right wingers went after Clinton from day 1 in the ugliest way possible.

6. In hindsight (always 20/20) I wish that Durbin
and all who put pressure on him started with "in contrast to others on this floor who viciously attacked... I do offer my regrets (or whatever the language that he used)"

7. What's the apology to response ratio so far
someone says it seems we're always apologizing. To me, there are far more calls for apologies then there are actual apologies. The Republicans are overusing that tactic like fiends. What's with calling for apologies right, left, and center.

8. Lets not forget Dick head telling a sitting Senator to go "Fuck himself"
Edited on Tue Jun-21-05 08:42 PM by MazeRat7
No apology. Never will be... However, to the best of my knowledge the dems once again slithered into the shadows and didn't demand one. And even if they had.. there was no way in hell Dicky was going to give one and certainly the MSM would not report nightly on their demands.....

Asshats.

9. Nope
And it isn't like we are DEMANDING apologies, either. That's a Republican tactic...demanding apologies from those who rightly oppose them, and correctly characterize them as who they are...they demand apologies for this.

But one should ask...what is an apology worth if it is not offered up without prompting, and of thier own free will?

IMNSHO, the Republicans have much to apologize for...and they never will, either.

For starters, I'd like the Republicans to apologize for BREATHING...

20. Not entirely. Rove was on "Hardball" tonight doing lots of 'explaining'
LOTS of 'splainin' about Shrub, his policies, his ratings. At first I wasn't looking at the screen, so I wasn't aware who was talking. When I finally turned around and saw it was Rove?!, I thought FINALLY they're on the Defensive...we've got them on the Defensive. The DSM, and talk of impeachment ARE working.

That's probably why they upped the threatening on the Dem's.

12. Dennis Hastert suggested George Soros might deal in drugs.
Hastert made some ignorant comment such as "I don't know how Soros gets his money -- drugs, maybe." And I don't recall his colleagues rushing to call him an anti-Semite, an ignorant demagogue, or the like. I don't recall Hastert apologizing, either.

But if George Soros were a Republican, he would be lauded as the Great American Success Story. If George Soros were financing AEI or the Heritage Foundation or some crap featuring Ann Coulter, he would be feted and lauded, and the GOP would be naming buildings after him.

17. Maybe if Soros bought some breweries, he'd be a better citizen
Certainly a better citizen than a former candidate for US Senate from Colorado.

19. Snake-tongued Republicans have no class, no compassion, and no clue.
"Apology" is simply not in the lexicon of a cold-blooded reptile.
