Waxman/Pelosi held Big Press Conference yesterday...NO MSM Coverage!
I can't find a thing about it. No mention on Google or Yahoo News. Have any of you seen coverage that I somehow missed? All I read is about Senator Durbin and nothing about this. There were press there asking questions..yet it doesn't get covered.

Here's what I posted yesterday after I watched it on C-Span.

C-Span! Waxman/Pelosi Just called for Independent Investigation/Gitmo!

Edited on Tue Jun-21-05 01:13 PM by KoKo01

170 Members of Congress (Dems) have signed on for a Bill. Pelosi, Waxman, Harmon and Skelton are speaking about the need to keep America Safer by holding and investigations and establishing critera and accountabilty for our policy in holding these detainees. Also investigation into abuses and how high up the chain of command they go.

They are calling for us to Petition our Representatives to call for the immediate establishment of a Commission to investigate this. What is the "chain of command" Pelosi says.

Reporter asked how can Dems get support since they can't get anything done even though they petition. Pelosi said that the citizens have petitioned in the past and the 9/11 Victims managed to force a Bi-Partisan Commission to investigate what happened there.

Pelosi and Waxman were great when a couple of the "Media Whore Press" kept trying to get her to attack Senator Durbin for comments and to defend accusations by Delay that Pelosi and Durbin were unpatriotic and not supporting the troops. Both Pelosi and Waxman said "This is nothing but diversionary Repuglican Politics to take the heat off the publics disapproval of a war we went into without proper intelligence, preparation or planning to get out of. Waxman said Delay uses McCarthyite tactics to tar anyone asking questions as unpatriotic.

Both of them really gave it back to the two slimy reporters who kept trying to get them to defend themselves against Delay.

They were asked how they could get support for independent hearings by one reporter and they said they hoped that "the people" would contact their representatives and petition them to call for an investigation.

1. All gov affairs coverage is Bush speeches and talking head contests
between spinners on right and left.

2. The mainstream media is bought and paid for by AWOL Bush
no investigation into his cocain use; no investigation into his alcoholism; no investigation into Laura's vehicular manslaughter of her boyfriend; no investigation of AWOL Bush's aborted baby; no investigation of the obsolete planes he was conveniently trained to fly while serving half his assignment before going AWOL; no investigation into his illegal financial dealings (with Saudi royals)for his failed oil company; no investigation into the treasonous act of outing a federal agent which caused her life to be at risk; no investigation for numerous lies he told in order to drag an entire nation into war; no investigation into what he did on 9/11/01 while he was running and hiding; no investigation into the downing street memo; gawd.. i'm tired of typing.. the list of NON-INVESTIGATIONS is endless..

yet when President Clinton was in the white house the media hounded him mercilessly.. they created "scandals" out of thin air (white water, etc.)

3. It's time the Democrats walked out. Shut the Government down...this is
far beyond anything I've ever seen. It's time for drastic measures.

5. This is exactly what I'd love to see right now.
Or even better, walk onto chamber floors and as soon as the Republicans start their diatribes and do their par for the course shut-up-and-sit-down to their "friends on the Left"... I want to see each and every Democrat stand in unison and wrap a red bandana around their heads as if they are gagged and have a seat. When it's their turn to speak, walk up to the podium and point to the gag, give a palms up shrug and go sit back down. One after the other, the same thing throughout an entire day of proceedings.

4. its just lessons.
Durbin wasted many days with his remarks. Also, yesterday Bush refused to have a commission on Torture.

The stories/issues were not covered. Its time to win elections, not food fights.
