2. She's gone insane
I always thought she was a little unhinged and 'way too desperate to be heard, but this self-serving piece of tripe just makes me think either Roger Ailes is holding her mother hostage somewhere or else the guilt and shame she feels over having sold her whoring services to the most recent bidder - Fox - have finally overtaken her stability and rendered her clinically bonkers.

6. Fox News Whore
Is there some reason I should care what she thinks? Is anybody surprised that a women who gets her paycheck from Roger Ailes and who claims to be "extremely loyal for reasons having nothing to do with ideology" (Translation: Blow Job) is defending his right-wing smear machine?

Susan. You're a whore. You've gone over to the Dark Side and no amoung of self-serving rationalizations on your part are going to make any liberal think that you're anything other than a turn-coat. You chose money over integrity.

Live with it.

7. The only "news" in that screed
Is that Susan Estrich still has the nerve to style herself as a "liberal." Naturally, she is unable to cite any instances where she's gotten an unabashedly liberal point across at Fox, and the bottom line for her seems to be . . . the bottom line. By her own admission, she's making more money at Fox than she could anywhere else, so she sits on camera and smiles. A lot. Probably hearing the sounds of a cash register ringing up her paycheck.

9. Wow, what delusion
Fox has three times as many viewers as CNN? HAHAHAHAHA. And what, one one-hundredth of the viewers of NBC news?

10. This is why many are very concerned about Gen. Clark signing with FAUX
Pussy sellout "liberals" like Estrich and Colmes are not the exception on FAUX, they are the rule. Otherwise, their "Democratic" voices are the usual DLC shills (Biden, Richardson, Holy Joe Likudberman, etc) who always agree with everything the Fraudministration does, but claim they could "do it better"

Howard Dean was right when he said FAUX was a neocon propaganda arm, and NO Democrat has any business on that channel.

12. I think didn't hear Howard Dean say that Dems shouldn't appear on faux?
Edited on Wed Jun-22-05 01:19 PM by FrenchieCat
How are we supposed to reach those pickup truck people that Howard Dean wanted us to address, if they don't see or hear us?

I think that the two prong approach is much more effective....
Fight and call out the Faux Network from the outside,
and
Infiltrate and fight them from the inside.

If you think that Wes is gonna just become another mediawhore, you've got another thing coming.

What's her face has always been stupid. General Clark, on the other hand, has always been a warrior!

In fact, you need to lay off of General Clark. Judge the man by what he's already done....not based on what you hypothetically opine that he "might" do. He's got a fucking track record to point to, and that should Fucking count for something!

Like Tom Rinaldo said....
When the media jackals attacked Michael Moore, Howard Dean, and Dick Durbin, Clark did not disown any of them. He did not condemn them, he did not lecture them, he did not apologize for nor did he disassociate from any of those men. When in each case the political/media mob enforcers came to Clark's door expecting their "protection money" statement of denouncement, Clark wouldn't give it to them. He stood his ground for Moore, for Dean, and for Durbin. Clark was absolutely alone within the Democratic Party standing for Moore when the mob went howling after Michael for calling Bush a deserter in New Hampshire, and Clark was damn near alone in making NO apologies for or about Dean or Durbin.

That says something about Clark to me.

Clark was banned from CNN.....so why are you not talking about the chickenliver Dems who huddle in corners and don't speak out when they should? Clark was the only one on national Teevee who talked about the mistakes of this administration as the war was proceeding, and defended MM's right to speak after the Oscar incident...and again when MM called Bush a Deserter. He also defended, as required....Kerry, Dean and Durbin.
Here's a couple of the stories about Clark and CNN and how he got dismissed:
http://www.davidwissing.com/index.php/680
http://www.frontpagemag.com/Articles/Printable.asp?ID=9522

Faux hating should remain just that...not hating on someone like the General just because he's decided on a specific strategy of attack...considering the lack of guts and committment by so many Dems, it's a wrong and feckless thing to do.

When I start witnessing the collective courage from the elected Dems... then maybe we'll be on to something.

16. No, he never said Dems shouldn't APPEAR on Fox, but he did indeed call it
the propaganda arm of the GOP and did refuse to answer "leading" questions posed to him by Fox personalities.

20. That was my point.....
There's more than one way to skin Faux.

I agree with Howard Dean's sentiments....but I also like that Clark is also inside the enemy's territory.

I also agree with Howard Dean's past sentiments....that we have to have a 50 state strategy and that we need to talk to those folks driving their pick up trucks.

So I agree with Dean on a lot of points....and I don't see Clark as doing anything but giving us a two prong strategy. Denounce them from the outside....and denounce them from the inside.

Good Strategy, a purpose and a goal beats knee jerk reaction anyday of the week.

22. And as I've said before, I'll wait to see how Gen. Clark's stint at Fox
plays out before I'll comment on it. The Fox management undoubtedly has a tendency to stifle left-leaning commentary and views, and I hope they make an exception in this case.

21. Howard Dean said yesterday in Illinois
Talk to people who voted differently than you did, persuade them to vote with you. REACH OUT to people who didn't vote the way you did. Bring them home for the Dems so we can win elections.

You can hear him say it:

http://www.dembloggers.com/story/2005/6/22/7932/05593

This is exactly what Wes Clark is doing on Fox News. I suspect Howard Dean is proud of Wes Clark.

13. see this part here?
"I've come to expect the jabs at Fox News - because being a liberal, I get more than most. I work there in part because, six or seven years ago, they offered me a better deal than NBC at the time; and because, as a feminist and a Democrat, I think it's particularly important to have a dialogue with people who aren't already members of the same choir - that's the way we will ultimately have to win elections."

thats pretty much covers it-for sale to the highest bidder.

I have lost all respect for Susan Estrich given her ties with Faux news. I swear she was drunk on election night 2004 -- she made no sense and that smug asshole Brit Hume was almost mocking her.
