Republicans are such dandy liars... |
|
Scott McClellan, in his news conference today, says the information in the memos was given to the Senator on the Intelligence Committee and he passed the info on to other Senators and it's obvious the Democrats just want to hold up and block Bolton and keep him from going to the UN and doing the job that needs to be done. Blah...blah...blah...
It is my understanding that they blocked out the names, even in the memos that were given to the Committee? What is the truth about this matter? I have a hunch Scotty is lying his ass off but it's good enough for the Repubs...And they will continue to say this until Bolton is turned down once again...

Basically the Republican chairman of the Senate Intel Committee provided a list of names to John Negroponte, the new Itel Tsar.
Negroponte told him that those names were not on the list, but then you would have to believe that any member of this administration is capable of telling the truth, which I don't.
The Dems asked for a hamburger and the WH gave them a dog biscuit.

the republicans do nothing that is a waste of effort.
They are laying groundwork for justifying a recess appointment and blaming the necessity for one on the evil Democrats.
They know their base won't scratch at all below the surface of anything they tell them, so they're just going to keep on lying with impunity.
If this is what their phrase the "adults are in charge" means no wonder they turned out the way they did. It's time to put the "adults" in a nursing home and get back to reality.

we're doing everything we can do. There are only two outcomes for the republicans: force him in and lose or be forced to put up a qualified candidate that we can mostly all agree on together. The second outcome is actually a win-win for the republicans, but they're too arrogant to yield even an inch if it means they would gain a foot.
They would rather cut off their face to spite their nose . . . so let 'em.
If Bolton goes in, he goes in with absolutely zero credibility, hamstrung from the beginning.
yet another stupid nearsighted decision on the part of this administration.

... garbage, but, yes, that's my understanding, as well. The intelligence committees were given redacted versions of the documents, the Dems on the Foreign Relations committee asked for not only the documents without redaction, but for about 2-1/2 times as many of the NSA intercepts requested by Bolton as were given to the intelligence committees.
Mr. McClellan is doing his best to obfuscate. That's his job, though. :)
