Randall Terry to Challenge State GOP Senate Leader Over Schiavo
Talk about a one issue candidate:

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) - Randall Terry, who founded the militant anti-abortion group Operation Rescue and helped lead the effort to reinsert Terri Schiavo's feeding tube, announced Wednesday he is running for the state Senate, setting the stage for a GOP primary in which Schiavo could be the central issue.
Terry will face state Sen. Jim King, one of nine Republicans who sided with the Democrats to block a bill aimed at keeping Schiavo alive. The primary will be in 2006.

Terry said King no longer represents the Republican base.

"The Terri Schiavo matter was unforgivable to many of the Republican loyalists," said Terry, 46. He also said King's appointment of Democrats to key positions in the Senate and his call for higher caps on medical-malpractice verdicts alienated voters.

1. King may no longer represent the Republican base, but ...
Terry would clearly represent the basest Republicans.

2. There are a decent number of freepers
who think Randall Terry is a freak.

Republican base my ass. When both Jackson and Terry showed up in Florida, some of them said, "The circus is now complete."

4. Another failure of a human being goes into politics
And we thought Shrub was a lose. Terry makes him look like a great success.

5. Wasn't he arrested for bringing a dead fetus to the 1994 Dem Convention?
He's always waiving around some fetus in a jar. He has two gay children with whom he does not speak (I guess like Alan Keyes), was "admonished" by his church for being "inappropriate" with the female congregants, and has been sued for failure to pay child support to his first family. He should fit right in with his fellow Republicans. ACK!:puke:

7. Oh oh...his "current" wife better watch out.....
Last time he ran for Senate he dumped his wife of upteen years for a hotpants that was on his election committee--there's a SHINING example of those "moral values" they always preach.

8. I doubt he can win
Jim King is fairly moderate for a Republican. And popular in his district. But I hope he gets tarred enough that a Dem can take his seat.
