New Social Security Website Released for Young Workers
Yahoo News (press release) - USA

WESTON, Mass., June 21 /PRNewswire/ -- A new web site has been released for the benefit of young people citing how to save Social Security entitled http://www.savesocialsecuritynow.info. The site spells out what their savings could be if properly secreted for 40 years which could total close to $3 million over a 40-year period.

In announcing the web site, creator, Richard A. DeVito, Sr. said "Every young person should read this web site and run to their nearest politician and scream at them to allow complete privatization of Social Security.

"When you compare government Social Security of maybe $20,000 per year versus close to $150,000 per year under my plan there is no contest. Even in 40 years from now someone can retire comfortably on $150,000 per year versus just get by on government handouts."

The site on Yahoo Biz (Save Social Security Now) goes on to tell your children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and our youth in general that:

"The way to save Social Security now is to look at the last number of the chart below. But before you do that, let me explain how I got to this number and what it is. This last number, $2.9 million, is what you can retire with if you privatize Social Security now."

After a lengthy chart it ends with this line... "And when you die, your heirs get the rest. On current social security, your heirs get the air!"
WTF!?!

Let me add for those that buy into this crap: Think of Social Security as a chair with 4 legs and your grandmother or mother is the chair. When and if some of our population, such as our youth (per se) stops paying into the only security we have in our society now (think of all those lost pensions in the news lately) think of it as kicking 1 leg from underneath your mom, grandparent, aunt, uncle (etc.) that paid into this system all of their lives.

Mind you, nothing is mentioned for the "disabled - ever!"

The Chimp was back on the tube today, live, spouting off about his Social Security ideals. I'm so sick of this administration dividing our young against those like myself that worked since the age of 14, as did my late-husband working sometimes 2-3 jobs at any given time, paying taxes and SS. When he died we had pension fully vested in. He knew if he went first I'd be "OK" because he worked so hard all his life to make sure of that, and he trusted his government with his money. A Viet Nam vet, he would be more appalled then I in these most disturbing, disgustingly sinister days. When he returned home from "Nam" he immediately picked-up protest signs and headed for D.C. From that day on he loved the earth, the environment and was into the 70's for "peace," and "love."

I know this is another "smoke-screen" to keep our eyes diverted from the true bouncing ball (DSM), but I believe it's also pushed over and over again because:

1. Bush is a jerk and is hell bent to his rich-ass way.
2. He loves dividing us. What else can one be left to believe...

All I want to know is how the House & Senate "everyday" can pass bill after bill sending millions, if not billions of dollars to war, energy, you name it, yet Bush keeps taking our money out of the Treasury... Oh, and where the hell is it going, then!?! We know this treasury money was not in the budget passed months back. Then, where the hell is it?

Don't we have a right to know what he's done with it? Checks and balances, right?

5. The push seems all about transfer of wealth to the private sector, imo.
I was a little flip in my post, below, yet this is serious. This is a move geared to remake how we fund government, the role of government, and the established "contracts" government has with the public.

Got to give them one thing...they said they wanted a smaller government. Many didn't realize they meant a smaller representative government. As more unsupervised and unregulated federal funds go into security and military budgets and more federal funds are relinquished to brokerage firms from Social Security, we stand to lose the "purse string" checks, and the "purse string" benefits inherent in the federal system established in our Constitution.

Not an alarmist, here, but it's worth staying tuned.

2. Bush is a lot like a case of herpes
It goes away for a while, and then, boom, there it comes again.

(at least that's what I've been told)

Like those stupid Nigerian emails. Except instead of starting with "Dear sir, i was a member of the Zimbabwe royal household until a coup in 2003..." this one starts "Bush's new plan to save Social Security!".

Stop innundating me with crap! I already told you morons I'm not interested in your Social Security plan already!

Don't they ever give up????

6. Is he trying to say
that if we just let Bush have his way, we'd all retire millionaires? I think that's what he said, $2.9million dollars, huh? Wow, maybe Bush IS right, or maybe these numbers aren't truthful. I think I know which case we're dealing with here.

Problem is, people might actually buy this shit, and believe that we'll all be millionaires someday. Wake up people, WE CAN'T ALL HAVE EVERYTHING!! We must learn to share, or kill each other to get what we want (and believe we actually need).
