Republican Commercial
The RNC's website now has a new flash video commercial in which it attacks the Democratic party for "over-the-top" denunciations of Bush and his cronies. I watched it and it's really not all that bad. In fact, it could have been produced by the Democrats.

It starts out with a bit of Don McClean's "American Pie". Good tune.

Then it shows footage of FDR, Truman and Kennedy giving their historical speeches. Still looks great for the Dems. Also, I'm thinking "When were the republicans such big fans of these guys? If they're such big fans, why are they trying to dismantle every acheivement they earned?"

Then the commercial rips into "Wild Thing" by the Trogs. Another great song.

Then, it shows a bunch of Democrats trashing Bush and the Republicans. They call them Nazis, liars and losers. Bring it on!

Finally, the commercial ends with a spot from John Stewart's Daily Show, where John is criticizing the Democratic party for it's lack of agressiveness. John is an icon of anti-Bush sentiment. It is weird to see him in a Republican commercial.

I hope the Republicans show this all over the place. More people need to see the Republicans being called traitors, Nazi's, torturers, and liars. As for the Democrats, being called "Wild Thing" isn't so bad. Look who's in the White House.

9. Depends
If they have no license to use the music or clip from Daily Show, they are violating copyright laws. Best to contact RIAA and Comedy Central to see if RNC has permission to use those copyrighted material.

2. You're right, but the GOP is trying to bring humor back
as a mode of mobilizing voters. I disagree, no one should see this trash with this humorous slant. When Bush laughs at a reporter before he finishes a question about Iraq the man should be shot right then and there.

I am not coming down on you, in fact i really respect you. I for one cannot go to rethuglican web sites on a regular basis. Quite simply I will get :puke: and then I will , but i never, never, never laugh.

and i refuse to give their web site a 'hit' (as if that matters). Thank you for the post tho

5. I understand your point of view
It's difficult to go there. I took the bullet for you, though. The real funny part about it is that they have a tough time finding a dignified picture of Bush to display on the website. And he's the head of the party! There's a small picture at the bottom, but he still has a confused look on his face.

I agree, they're not funny. This attempt at humor falls flat. Mean people don't know HOW to be funny.

7. overall--i liked it if you take out the no plan no vision shit
and i see they stole the bit about not being your parent's party--we've been saying that for about two years or more--randi rhodes keeps saying to repukies that their party has left them, it's not the repub party your parents belonged to.

gee--they are so original.

and i liked the opening--and all the parts where dean & pelosi & durbin were kicking their ass.

in a way it was a small testament to our fight against the gop--and that certainly isn't a bad thing!

hey rnc! thanks for the video! you morons!
