Conservatives did not "prepare for war." They told us to go to
Disney World. Did they ration gasoline, reinstitute the draft or tell the Saudis we were going to use our bases there to go after Bin Laden whether they liked it or not? Did they ban the production of gas guzzling vehicles? No, they told us to shop. They "went to war with the Army they had." The "preparation" was laying a foundation of lies for the PNAC plans.

4. Thanks for the reminders.
It's good to hear that stuff again. I'd forgotten some of it. Particularly "going to war with the army you have." It's even more sickening now in light of recent events.

6. If they had prepared for war
the troops wouldn't be looking for hillbilly armor.

Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11. We didn't have to go to war with the army we had in Iraq. We rushed to war without armor for the troops or their humvees. Prepared my ass.

Only in Afghanistan did we have a leg to stand on. And we're not even done there. Has the troop count there gone quietly up again lately? I know it did some time around the election, maybe right after or just before.

7. Is there any chance that our military will overthrow the idiot in chief?
We're already a banana republic.

9. It wouldn't surprise me one bit. But one cuckoo banana doesn't
make us the United Fruit Company.
