...saying the Kay report "isn't complete. Saddam himself was a weapon of mass destruction. Because he's captured, we're safer, blah blah blah..." Gosh, thanks for your support, Senator... :eyes:
Now saying, since the CNN poll that gives him a percentage point over Clark, there's "Joementum in NH."

After he wins 0.000001% in NH, he'll go away. In the meantime, I need an aspirin.

|
Not much longer. After he wins 0.000001% in NH, he'll go away.
He'll do better than that. After all, even just one vote would represent about 0.001%, and I *KNOW* at least a few people who will be voting for him.
He also has some of the NH usual Democratic machine behind him, although I have no idea why; I'd bet it's some sort of misguided loyalty.

not even question Lieberman saying there's no question ousting Saddam would save thousands of U.S. lives? It's really a breathtaking comment that has absoutely no basis in fact.

What a tortured response on why he took the political out and voted to invade Iraq. Does any "real" liberal Democrat actually like this guy?

our worst enemy. To give credence to bush's foreign policy keeps bush more viable in the general election. Its precisly why Lieberman won't win in a general election. If the people (majority) think the economy is mending somewhat and that the foreign policy was right, they will vote for bush.

He makes me scream at the TV as much as bush does! How can he claim to be a democrat? He just used the term "jomentum" again to describe the energy behind his campaign. He is very upsetting to watch and listen to.

I tolerated the crazy aunt I had that passed away a few years ago. But Lieberman just said that Michael Moore is wrong and its wrong to call Bush a deserter.
My patience is now extremely thin with Lieberman.

Joe, I wonder what the DLC thinks about their chances in this election and will they finally change their policies to fit the majority of our Party or will they pretend that small minority should still dictate the strategy and policies of this Party?

24. In defense of Joe Lieberman |
|
Lieberman has always advocated the toppling of Saddam. Joe's vote for IWR was not predicated on WMDs but because Joe wanted Saddam out, period. Joe has consistently defended his vote for war. Joe has also consistently stated that he thought the US should have toppled Saddam on human rights grounds.
Lieberman has been consistent and has shown intellectual integrity on the Iraq issue. Now, we still disagree with Joe, but at least he earns our respect particularly when compared with the flip-flopping candidate from Massachusetts.
Lieberman will be a stronger candidate than Kerry in the Fall because he will be able to attract independents.

When he went on his little tirade in the debate repeating every Bush lie about Iraq, even the ones that have been proven wrong beyond any reasonable doubt. Hopefully Joe will get a clue and be gone on Wednesday.

29. Lieberman is just a DINO |
|
As you can see from my nom de plume, I'm from Lieberman's state. There are very few Democrats here who really like him. He was a good Attorney General, who was put up as a Sacrificial Lamb against a very popular Maverick Republican, Senator Lowell Weicker, in 1988.
No one expected him to win, but William F. Buckley and his gang supported Joe, who was more in tune with their philosophy than Weicker was. He has never faced any real opposition in his re-election bids.
I voted for Weicker the first time, and didn't pull the lever for Senator the other two times.
He's very reactionary, and I wonder why he doesn't just come out and declare himself an official Repuke. Maybe after this election he will.
Weicker got his revenge by running for governor on the "A Connecticut Party" ticket, and winning. He retired after one term, and we now have the infamous crook John Rowland in office.
Getting back to Joe, we had an anti-war rally in Westport last year, attended by such notables as Joanne Woodward and several local elected officials. During one of the speeches, someone mentioned Lieberman, and was greeted by a chorus of boos!
