What is your version of a Rove 911 Sweeping Generalization?
You version must be of the form:

<GROUP OR PERSON A> saw the savagery of the 9/11 attacks and <SWEEPING GENERALIZATION ABOUT GROUP OR PERSON A>. <GROUP OR PERSON B> saw the savagery of 9/11 and the attacks <SWEEPING GENERALIZATION ABOUT GROUP B>

Example:

Karl Rove saw the savagery of the 9/11 attacks and began devising ways to exploit it for political gain. Most decent Americans saw the savagery of 9/11 and the attacks and thought it could be used to unite America.

2. Just a thought ...
If you use a propaganda analogy ...

What "the Jewish people" were to the propaganda artists of Nazi Germany, "the liberals" are to the Rove-Co brownshirts.

Rove et. al. is attempting to demonize all liberals (Democrats implied).

IMO just more piling on ... catapulting the propaganda. ;)

3. Karl Rove was an enabler of Bush-Cheney-Rumsfeld's savagery
in committing 9/11.

4. This was bait, and we took it hook, line, and sinker

Now the media is talking about this and not DSM or Bushco's falling numbers. We need to start thinking before we just react.

5. Have you read Chris Hedges?
They are marginalizing and demonizing "liberals."

I think that they waited to unroll this attack until they could find a fall guy. Watching, taping, and listening, they jumped on Durbin. (Actually, they have also been jumping on Dean and taking his words out of context too) Anyway, aside from the liberal comments, they also are trying to pin the falling support for the war on liberals and Durbin. It is as if the Arab street was unaware of the torture until Durbin brought it up.

This all right out of Rove's playbook. When I say "Rove" I don't refer to the man, but rather a flock of people who's job title is unspecific, but who work in the shadows to formulate the agenda.

As far as the DSMs, well, then we must show them that we can walk and chew gum. More pressure, not hand-wringing is what is called for.

6. How about...
"Citizens in New York and DC/VA saw the savagery of the 9/11 attacks and wondered how their lives would ever be the same. George W. Bush saw the savagery of the 9/11 attacks and wondered how the goat story would turn out."

7. This Is Worrisome
Karl Rove is a very calculating crap weasel. He knew exactly what he was saying, and he knew the reaction he would get.

Now that the Dems have demanded an apology, you can bet that Rove's criticism of the left along with a bunch of references to 9/11, terror, etc. will get played over and over again in the MSM. I think that was his goal all along.

9. I'm so confused!!!
What is wrong with wanting indictments and to understand our attackers? Obviously the "therapy" comment was intended to be a jab at touchy-feely liberals, but I really fail to see what's wrong with wanting to understand WHY people attacked America rather than wanted to immediately counterattack.

None of the Dems are talking about this point and instead are demanding an apology -- which doesn't make them look good at all and frames the debate just as Karl Rove wants it.

11. I agree
Any intelligent military organization spends vasts amounts of effort "understanding" the enemy. Why is is a RW attack point is just plain silly. Using their logic I guess we don't need a CIA or NSA.

12. Business as usual...
Divide and conquer... pandering to the neo-con "base"... par for the course... etc, etc, etc....

And, the beat goes on.

This administration, and all they say and do and stand for disgusts me.

13. Yes, Bait...
And the best reply is attack the ploy, not address the subject matter...

"Really Mr. Rove, you really must think the American people are stupid if you think they will buy this load of Horseshit. Let's go down to Osama Bin Laden's jail cell and ask him about it. Oh, wait...we can't ! It's 4 years later and you still haven't got him dead...or Alive. If it's any consolation though, you say every now and then that you are thisclose to catching him. Funny how you say that whenever the Whitehouse has a bad week."

15. that was one of those days...
Edited on Fri Jun-24-05 01:04 PM by dajoki
that we will never forget, we all grieved together and for rove and co. to say something like that now is a punch in the face to all americans. but we know it is to take the spotlight off their f**k ups. they are good at that, most people who don't follow politics closely are fooled by them and they know it. i lost the link but if you google "911 Blimp" you can get some very interesting info about that day.( if they haven't removed the website yet). :banghead:
