Rove opens his mouth and a door and Dems whine instead
of walking through that door.

He said conservatives "prepared for war" after the 9/11 attacks.

Well if his boss had "prepared for war" in August of 2001 while busy on his vacation after receiving the PDB entitled "Bid Laden determined to attack America", 9/11 may not have happened.

If his boss had "prepared for war" after being warned by the previous administration that Al Queda was a threat and would be taking up a lot of their time, maybe 9/11 wouldn't have happened.

If his boss had "prepared for war" after the Hart-Rudman report was issued instead of handing it off to Cheney who was too busy meeting with oil company execs to plan how to boost their profit margin at the expense of the American consumer under the guise of a "national energy policy",maybe 9/11 wouldn't have happened.

If his boss had "prepared for war" instead of ignoring Richard Clark as he ran around with his "hair on fire",maybe 9/11 wouldn't have happened.

When will the 'leaders' of the Democratic party smarten up, because until they do, we're not going to send these feckless turds back to their faux cowboy ranches where they can harm no one other than themselves.

My disgust is palpable.

1. Good observation.
I'm sure it was a slip, but at the same time I'm sure they will cover it up by saying he was talking about Afghanistan.

I hope the Dems will seize this opportunity. They have quite a few.

2. Have you seen this
Kerry has written to many of us asking us to sign a letter to Bush to Fire Rove. I think that's worth something and not whining.

3. I think the Dems should just laugh and dismiss the Pubs comments
as too absurd to even take seriously! I wouldn't ask for any appologies. Who cares! Even if a Pub did issue one, it wouldn't be sincere!

One of the best ways to deal with name callers is to laugh at them, ignore their comments, and dismiss them as irrelevant!

I hope at least one of the leading Dems reads this!

All you do by whining is dignify their false statements!

5. Those days are over..or should be.
Sitting back and thinking we can ignore their attacks is what's kept us in the minority the past 6 years.

6. I didn't say ignore them! I said dismiss their comments as
irelavant lies! When you laugh at them, and make dismissive statements to just put them down, I think it does a lot more than demanding apologies.

9. Turn Rove's comments against the Bush administration!
Yes, Rove opened a door for us. Don't get riled up about his attack on liberals. That's want he wants us to do in order to divert attention from the failed policies of the Bush administration.

DON'T focus on this:

"Liberals saw the savagery of the 9/11 attacks and wanted to prepare indictments and offer therapy and understanding for our attackers."

Instead focus on this:

"Conservatives saw the savagery of 9/11 and the attacks and prepared for war."

Use Rove's own comments as the basis for discussing how the Bush adminstration turned their attention away from the actual attackers to rush to war against Iraq, how the Bush administration has mismanaged and failed to adequately prepare for our military action in the middle east, etc.

Here's a great come-back to Roves comments...

10. Yeah, it's also too bad
that when Gen Clark was saying these things back a couple of years ago, he was being called crazy and a conspiracy theorist and very few from "our side" chose to back him up....Perhaps if people took what he said seriously rather than dismissing it as too controversial, we might not be in quite the mess we're in now....

12. It was an open door to blast them with the DSM too.
I'm begining to think the Top Democrats are GLAD Rove put this distration out there- now they can ignore the "hot" DSM and discuss "safe" things ("How dare Rove SAY SOMTHING mean to us!!") and still pretend they are fighting Bush for donation purposes.
