Ron Reagan has a pair of big brass ones!
On MSNBC's "Connected," Ron Reagan went off on a rant that included:

Dems should stop apologising for anything.

Dems should remind everyone how often repugs use Nazi references, including Sessions, "BullyBoy" Rush Limbaugh and his daily big fat idiot remarks about femi-nazis.

Dems have contrived a way to lose to losers.

"We know what happens when this White House gets an idea in its head - it keeps the other one company."

Right wing "jihadis" wouldn't recognise the truth if it was giving them a lap dance.

Administration's dishonesty is matched only by its incompetence.

Memo to Dems - pointing that out doesn't require an apology.

Someone on DU was ripping on Ron as being Monica's rag doll to push around the other day--or something close to it. I don't remember the exact attack. And there are times when he seems a bit too passive. But damn, every so often he lets out some zingers! The truth as a lap dance comment is a classic!

Also, I really like listening to Ron Reagan--he does his homework, whereas Monica is so over the top with her jingoistic dribble--she at times is laughable.

61. Yep, she comes from Faux
I heard her on Imus a few weeks ago- she said she was with faux for about 6 years. They wouldn't give her a show of her own (she was a correspondent) so she bailed to MSNBC.

Before that she was an assistant to Richard Nixon & wrote 2 books about him.

8. I love it. This is exactly the tone we need
"Right wing jihadis wouldn't recognize the truth if it was giving them a lap dance" says a lot in a memorable way.

"Administration's dishonesty is matched only by its incompetence" is the story and has been the story for 4 years. This should be shouted every single day by dem leaders, journalists, and the public until it is sinks in. It cannot be refuted honestly.

"Dems have contrived a way to lose to losers" is a beauty and, sadly, true. A good question is...why?

More, please.

He very definitely has opinions & he isn't afraid to state them. What makes him interesting is that he gives her (and others) enough rope to hang themselves before pointing out the 8 zillion reasons they are wrong wrong wrong. He reminds me of Keith Olbermann in a way- very funny, down to earth. Calm & able to see the forest through the trees. As opposed to the shrieking psychosis of a Chris Matthews, Joe Scarbrough, Tucker Carlson, Sean Hannity or Bill O'Reilly. Those stooges are all asshats in my opinion.

And chances are your America and George W. Bush's America are not the same place. If you are dead center on the earning scale in real-world twenty-first-century America, you make a bit less than $32,000 a year, and $32,000 is not a sum that Mr. Bush has ever associated with getting by in his world. Bush, who has always managed to fail upwards in his various careers, has never had a job the way you have a job - where not showing up one morning gets you fired, costing you your health benefits. He may find it difficult to relate personally to any of the nearly two million citizens who've lost their jobs under his administration, the first administration since Herbert Hoover's to post a net loss of jobs. Mr. Bush has never had to worry that he couldn't afford the best available health care for his children. For him, forty-three million people without health insurance may be no more than a politically inconvenient abstraction. When Mr. Bush talks about the economy, he is not talking about your economy. His economy is filled with pals called Kenny-boy who fly around in their own airplanes. In Bush's economy, his world, friends relocate offshore to avoid paying taxes. Taxes are for chumps like you. You are not a friend. You're the help. When the party Mr. Bush is hosting in his world ends, you'll be left picking shrimp toast out of the carpet.

Like most folks, he takes a while moving over into the smart column. I've liked him ever since he hosted SNL in the 80s & did a riff on Risky Business--except instead of Tom Cruise minding the house whil the folks were away, it was Ronnie Reagan minding the White House while Gipper & Nancy were at Camp David. And yes, he danced in his underwear while the Red Phone was ringing

Whenever any of the right-wing wackos on Coast to Coast brings up Ron's father, Ron lets them have it.

Right Wing Idiot: Bush is doing X, just like President Reagan did!

Ron: My father never started an illegal war, killing thousands of innocents, based solely on LIES!

I love it! Strips one of their favorite cards from the deck. They cannot bring up the Gipper in any debate with Ron.

I couldn't help but kind of like the guy. As for Ron Reagan, he's great. I read his article on MSN and he has a lot of good things to say.

But you know what I think is funny? The fact that Reagan is in the running for Discovery Channel's "Greatest American" with people like Thomas Jefferson, MLK, and George Washington. Of course what do you expect when the pannel consists of some black guy from Star Search, Dennis Miller, and Ann Coulter.

If his rating go up, he will not only stay on the air but get moved to a good time slot.

65. Further proof that Ron kicks ass

The Case Against George W. Bush

The son of the fortieth president of the United States takes a hard look at the son of the forty-first and does not like what he sees
http://www.esquire.com/features/articles/2004/040729_mfe_reagan_1.html

And this quote from Ron's speech at his fathers funeral:

Dad was also a deeply, unabashedly religious man. But he never made the fatal mistake of so many politicians wearing his faith on his sleeve to gain political advantage. True, after he was shot and nearly killed early in his presidency, he came to believe that God had spared him in order that he might do good. But he accepted that as a responsibility, not a mandate. And there is a profound difference.
