Rove's remark begs question 'Do R's really want to win in Iraq ?'
Yes, you heard me right. "A house divided against itself cannot stand" , Matthew 12:25, and Lincoln in 1858.

This President is tanking in the polls precisely because he WILL NOT level with the American people. He and his staffer Rove have made it their strategy to purposely DIVIDE this country.

They apparently don't want to win in Iraq so much as to poke a finger in the eye of their fellow countrymen. They will even deny that Democratic servicemen and women are casualties in Iraq, at least they will imply it.

Like Lincoln, if this President wants to accomplish his goals, he must do it through reason and above all telling us the truth about the situation. Apparently Bush and Rove are really just dividers, not uniters. If they were uniters, the situation would not be as grim as it currently is.

1. Bushwipes think liberals are the enemy, not the terrorists.
Cons who worship Falwell really *do* believe that liberals caused the towers to fall in NYC and not bin Laden's terror network.

they will blame for the failure.

Remember, Viet Nam was lost because of Jane Fonda and peace advocates. It is NEVER the fault of the idiots who won't learn you don't win a war of occupation unless the locals decide to go along.

They are a bunch of addicts and they will NEVER take responsiblity for what they do. The difference between Rove and the Marine who blamed 50 cent beer for him raping women is that Rove damages more people.

3. I agree.
If they are going to succeed, they are going to have to level with the American people and call for a draft. The only thing that makes sense right now, is to gradually pull out ,and declare victory. Although, Shrub continuously makes no sense.

4. They created a rock and a hardplace scenario for themselves.
They can't level with the American people. They can't say - you wouldn't have gone along with us if I told you I just wanted to be a war president and do it better than poppy did so that I could be reelected and use all of my political capital to get everything I wanted through congress. There it is - any truth telling would get back to that.

5. Also by dividing the Country...
they are uniting what is becoming an increasingly fractured Republican party.

6. But they're still wading in the Big Muddy and the big fool says push on
The Dems should be offering a bit of an 'olive branch' to the military with the strategy of pulling back into Kuwait in strategic retreat. This has been accepted war strategy since the game began.

The Iraqis will have to improvise adapt and overcome just as we haven't been able to effectively. The Iraqis will have to neutralize the jihadis and Baathists who think they can 'come back' to power like the old days.

After assisting from the air during this pullback period, the Iraqis can occasionally ask for further help if and when they need it. We will have to only aid those coalitions (Shia and Kurd) who support us in the long term, nobody else, and insist on results.

This is the only way "OUT" given that our fearless leader (actually brainless) didn't insist on an exit strategy to begin with. We should never have stayed past Saddam's capture and have handed him over for immediate execution.
