as hard as it is to believe. some are JUST NOW figuring out the lies
that is what has been going on. THere are some in midwest heartland and the deep south and out west, etc. who have just absolutely turned a deaf ear to all of the "naysayers" like us who preached against the war before it happened, while the invasion took place, and long after.

The polls are going down down down because more joe blows are going...WTF? I was LIED TO.

sad that it took that long, but in our partisan political climate that turns off so many from paying attention and our busy, busy lies...that is why we had to get so far and so low before a critical mass is fed up and speaking their rage.

1. Most haven't paid attention...
..most lives don't include current events. They hear a few headlines, which had, for the past five years been controlled and biased. In this context, the charges against Bush may have seemed like the cries of sore losers.

It's hard to accept that a person you have trusted has lied.

2. Sad, but true
That's what happens when one puts party loyalty above love for and loyalty to America.

4. they are only now effected by the Bait and Switch
and are rising little by little out of their stupor. Bush and his crew will pull out all the stops attempting to rock them back to sleep or send them into a fearful fetal position again.

6. So polish up your talking points
Rehearse the litany of lies and get ready to enlighten a few folks. Our audience is just tuning in and receptive to some new information. We can provide it or Faux News can provide it. So get your talking points in order and be ready when someone you previously thought was an unreachable kool-aid drinker shakes his head and says, "Man, this Iraq shit is just gettin' out of hand."

7. great idea. know the truth better than they know the lie.
sometimes they have their bad info down pat better than someone knows the facts and they win on momentum of "MESSAGE" and we must know our information chapter and verse.

8. If you do that
Edited on Fri Jun-24-05 06:44 PM by Johnny Noshoes
don't, DON'T talk to them like they're stupid. If you do you'll lose them for sure. Be patient without being condescending. When some people finally realize that they've been messed with they're going to be upset they don't need to feel any worse. I'm not adressing any one person here at DU just saying that we need to do this the right way if we're going to win.

9. Actual quote heard in the wild recently:
"Now that we know we were lied to about Iraq and the economy's going down the shitter, Bush better get his act together or there'll be a F$#@ing Democrat in the White House in 2008 ..."

:banghead:

10. Maybe.
Bush's history of approval ratings trends is always down. The more people see the less they like him. This was also true before 9/11 when his ratings were dismal.

He gets spikes in approval after significant events like 9/11, invasion, getting Hussein, orange alert, etc....then the trend goes down again, sometimes faster and sometimes slower.

This has been a horrific years for him so far and it's about to get worse....
