Poll question: Have you changed your choice for the nomination since Iowa?
Edited on Sun Jan-25-04 01:53 PM by mndemocrat_29
We've had a debate since then and obviously a lot of new press coverage and information since Iowa, and I was wondering whether or not any people on DU have changed their minds.

4. My first choice remains unchanged, however
Edwards' surprise strength has propelled him to a solid #2 on my list.

8. My first, second, and third choices remain the same
My fourth only changed because that slot used to belong to Gephardt. It now stands (for me at least):

1. Clark
2. Kerry
3. Edwards
4. Sharpton
5. Dean
6. Kucinich
7. Lieberman

5. I was a Kerry supporter before IA...
...and I remain a Kerry supporter.

But I welcome anyone who has seen the momentum and wants to jump on board. There's room for everyone under this big tent!

7. So, why have Edwards and especially Kerry...
...dropped down on your list.

I'm curious.

14. Plain and simple , the Kerry campaign putting out flyers
That are nothing but lies. Debate the issues, slinging mud and lying I don't take to kindly to. Kerry will be done by Super Tuesday. We take this kind of shit from the repukes, I won't tolerate it from a Democrat.

10. What she said
I've changed my second choice - it used to be Kerry, it's now Dean. We can't afford somebody who wants to play the same old game. We've seen that it's a losing strategy. We need to change the parameters of the game, and I believe both Clark and Dean will do that. And besides, after the stealth negative campaigning by Kerry, it's clear to me that he's just another politician, playing the same old games.

12. Don't kid yourself.
They are ALL stealth negative campaigning.

Why target Kerry with this in particular?

9. unchanged for Clark
but I do like Howard Dean better than I did pre-Iowa. After listening more to Kerry and Edwards, it seems like both Clark and Dean just talk with less obfuscation and they both hammer * much more directly than either Kerry or Edwards.

13. Edwards almost never mentions * by name but he
hammers all the same by discussing the difference between his programs and the current state of affairs. Having now watched at least 5 of his rallies/stumps in addition to the one minute "debate" answers (which cannot reveal much about any of our candidates) I think two-way communication is a great strength of his.

I think Clark takes too much time to get to the point, but he has gotten much better than this as his campaign has gone along.

I would be happy with any of the four as the nominee, but my ranking remains:

Edwards (by far)
Dean
Clark/Kerry

11. I was uncommitted before Iowa
Then Kerry's win brought me back into the fold and I remembered why I supported this guy first.

16. Not a moment's thought about changing from Clark
But the rest of my list has changed:

Clark
Edwards
Dean
Kucinich
Kerry

Lieberman and Sharpton have never made my list.

17. Still supporting Clark!
But I've got to say that Edwards made a great impression on me throughout the Iowa caucuses.
