Forgive me, but perhaps Cheney/hospital is a stunt?
Earlier this week - in an attempt to thwart the impact of the DSMs - Cheney goes on television and does what he has done for years. Fabricates - with lies that have tested well with market groups in the past. But this time - he looks absurd. He states things as fact that are now known not as fact, and worse that most folks know HE knows are not fact. Suddenly he is a star in his own theater of the absurd... and rather than looking strong and confident - he looks arrogant and contemptuous.

Within days - he is rushed to a hospital for his knee... but secretly it wasn't about his knee... it was about his heart. Secret? Hah! It was out too quickly to be a secret.

Sympathy distraction ploy. He over stepped and needs to be kept out of sight for a little while. Earlier in the week he reminded folks why many in the GOP at this time a year ago were speculating on the need for his being dumped from the ticket (his positive polls, were I believe, around 20%). So voila - he is ill... poor guy... he will just take time to recover (or hide in an undisclosed location) til the publc forgets how much they really, really do not trust this guy.

On the one hand I feel like a schmuck writing this, and speculating if indeed he has really had a serious health crisis. But so much with these folks is staged - and isn't what it appears to be on the surface, that I just couldn't help myself.

2. Has there been anything about him going to hosp in the MSM?
I haven't heard anything. The only info I heard was here on DU. Have I just been unconcious?

There was something about this posted yesterday and I asked if it could have anything to do the the recall of the heart implant things they just recalled. I didn't get an answer.

4. ap via Salon had an item about the visit to the hospital for "orthopedic:
doc. It was on the Huffington blog that there was a story on it being a heart issue masked as orthopedic - and I expect we will read of confirmation of that point within the next 24-48 hours.

6. I hope it is orthopedic, I hope he broke both his kneecaps. I
broke one of mine once and this POS is one the the few people I'd wish it on.

5. I'm worse than you are!
I speculated earlier that he might have one of the recalled pacemaker/defibrillators, and they want to keep it mum.

Deregulate! Deregulate! Deregulate! Look the other way! Maximize profits!

Woops.

10. Remember the Gitmo!!
If Cheney ever ends up doing time in prison, perhaps he'll request a nice cell in the tropics, where he can get honey-glazed chicken and a choice of 2 desserts every Sunday. He seems to feel that's generous treatment for the Gitmo detainees. But really, folks, when will the press register appropriate rage and disgust with ideas like "they're in the tropics" as Cheney's support for the management of the detainees? Even assuming all is done properly there (and I suspect it may be the case), how can we keep pretending this administration is wearing any clothes at all when they keep prancing naked before our eyes?

So maybe he should go to a hospital in the tropics?
