Poll question: Buzzword poll for bush* speech on Tuesday night 6/28
bush* is suppose to give a speech on Tuesday night - talking about Iraq

For a rather long posting of my view of his speech see --> http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=104x3946236

meanwhile - What will be the "buzzword" most highly featured in his speech?

4. "Hard Work"
The man who has never in his life held a job, let alone worked--the Vacation President--is going to keep saying, over and over, that

"It's hard work"

7. Here's a scary one for you
How about "Syria" and or "Iran"

What ever happened to "smoke em out, get em runnin', bring em to justice" that was always good for a laugh anyway.

I feel certain that he will use all of these at one time or another. I'm thinking freedom and terror will figure very prominently. Staying the course?

Freedom is on the march! Muslims march to that line for processing, you gays march to this line here, all you 'culture of death' folks form up your line right over there. Let's go!

15. Use the troops for photo ops.
As ususal, like the mission accomplished lie, he'll give his little grinny-faced fact-void talkin' to in front of US troops. No questions, only uniformed troops duty-bound to show respect and awe, perhaps with applause cards to keep the animation up. A real president in this situation would talk turkey in front of cameras, with no-holds-barred questions from reporters of all stripes. He's a phony, all right.

17. Actually, Bush is also stupid enough to wrap Saddam, democracy
in the region and keeping America safe as part of his tattered quilt of patriotism. The troops will be ordered/obliged/commanded/directed to applaud. It is one of those fabled handpicked audiences where there will be no dissent. It is set up to stir the picturesque patriotic heartstrings, then WHAM! The lies will be cast as pearls before swine about how Saddam gassed the Kurds(however many years ago with Rummy's help), there was a democratic election and freedom is on the march (though how many have been blown up since won't come up) and all of this was really hard work and we have turned the corner on the mission accomplished, the he salutes and shakes hands with people who are forced to act like they think he's the cat's pajamas rather than Commander Cuckoo Bananas...

Good Poll! Bush Bingo will be entertaining next week!

Who is giving the democratic response? :hide: Please not a pro-war Dem! Joementum...

18. "Buzzword Poll" should be permanent..
It is always easier to reframe, when Republican buzzwords are brought to our attention. For once, maybe we can get ahead of THEIR "art-of-word-manipulation" game.

(As to the poll...you have to factor in the Bush Regime's choice to give the speech at a military base location.)

My guess is:

"I am determined...I am confident...I am resolute...I will stay the course..." (He needs to project the illusion of being a confident leader) How do we reframe this?...that should be the SECOND PART of every buzzword poll.

I agree that he will use "liberty...democracy...freedom" throughout his speech. As well as his obligatory..."I look forward to..." which also gives him the illusion of being a fearless leader. How do we reframe this?

Lastly....he will use misinformation to infer that Democrats/Liberals or "some Americans"...are not patriotic in the same vein as he and his supporters are patriotic. How do we reframe this?

These Buzzword/Reframe postings could make a monumental contribution in rebutting the Republican propaganda. Keep it going.

25. Gotta be "freedom"
Edited on Sat Jun-25-05 03:53 PM by tenshi816
including those perennial favourites "spreading freedom" and "they hate us for our freedom", plus the words America and freedom will never be far apart, nor will 9/11 and freedom.

If I had done a shot every time the Chimp said "freedom" in his re-thronement speech in January, I'd have been taken into the ER for liver failure.

27. I don't think he will mention specifically Iran or Syria
he may identify them as "terrorist supporters" (or words to that effect)

with 55-60% of polls indicating people think Iraq was a mistake - saber rattling at Syria and/or Iran at this point would be stupid

(but then again.... the bushies don't have much of a track record for doing "smart" things...)

nonetheless - they would risk losing what little support they have remaining if Commander Cuckoo-Bananas gets up on his horse and yells "damn the torpedos!"

We are still fighting in Afghanistan, Bin-Laden is still running around, Iraq is in a mess (with a high probability of disintergrating into civil war) and the military is having problems recruiting cannon fodder - (even bush*'s most ardent reich-wing supporters do not want to volunteer)

at this point - the only way bush* could possibly gain wide-spread public support to invade Iran and/or Syria is if there is another terrattack on US soil.

keep in mind - the only time bush* had massive support was just after September 11th. He managed to retain that support through the use of fear and fixing facts to match his lies. The only tool he has is FEAR.
