Do the people have a right to know their VP is hospitalized ?
and how serious it might be? Does the same VP have the right to hide his hospitalization from the people? I say the people have a right to know...remember Thomas Eagleton?

1. In his case, yes.
Considering the severity of his previous medical condition.

4. Yes we do
After all, love him or hate him (we all know where we stand), he is the V.P., in other words, no. 2 (hah) in command. If he is incapacitated, we need to know. And yes, I do remember Thomas Eagleton, who was quickly replaced by R. Sargent Shriver. Last name sound familiar? Yep, he's related to the First Lady of California and part of the Kennedy clan.

6. Cheney insisted on sitting for his debate with Edwards
Remember? It was probably because he could not stand for the entire 2-3 hours of debate, otherwise it would have been held with participants all standing.

The guy has a serious heart condition. While I don't think he is on life support per se, he doesn't seem to be all that great health wise.
He is such a snarling SOB he probably looks healthier than he really is. I fear a tip over before the end of this miserable administration.

11. We should know but the reality of the...
current administration is to keep everything secret. That way the public can't make an informed decision which is not good for democracy, but hey, democracy was getting old anyway.

14.  DicK Cheney isn't going to run for president,
so I believe they are going to phase him out of the white house over the next couple of years. Then they can bring in who they want to fill the next presidency. Whoever it is will take Cheney's position so the voters will get comfortable with him. We will be seeing Cheney in and out of sickness from now on. He'll still be running the show behind the scenes for the puppet and making sure Haliburton is getting well taken care of.

18. THEM?! Hahahahahaha
The important people know; the rest are dirt.

What don't you get about Republicanism? As for Eagleton, he didn't have a manly physical ailment, he was a weakling with emotional problems. (He was a good man, but Republicans look on mental illness, even managable mental illness, as somethin unfitting for a MAN.)

In the eyes of the aristocracy, we're all filth.

21. Speaking of health and the public's interest in knowing, did b*sh ever
have and release info about the physical he DIDN'T take on schedule (much like the ones he missed at TANG?) during the campaign? If the media never forced THAT issue they sure as hell aren't gonna bring up Cheney checking into a cardiac unit under an assumed name to see an orthopedic specialist about a boo-boo on his knee!

29. Lyndon Johnson
I seem to remember a news flash breaking into the TV shows talking about Pres. Johnson's cold. This, of course, was during the height of the Cold War, so whenever you heard the words, "We interrupt this program to bring you a special news bulletin," your heart stood still. It wasn't an ICBM being dropped on New York, just Johnson with a head cold.

30. Absolutely we have the right to know.
If they have the right to know about a personal sexual indiscretion, we certainly have the right to know if he is having a medical emergency that could greatly affect the Chain of Command in this country.
