"we can`t show what happened" the us truck bombing
my wife talked to a tv news producer from a major market station and they said the suicide bombing of the us truck was not to be shown nor were the gender of official death toll. they were instructed to say only two women had died and not the other women who died. they stated this is an everyday occurrence that they receive instructions on what is to be shown on the news regarding the war.
of course we all know that but it is always good to get conformation that we are correct in our belief that the major news stations receive their instructions from the top,the top refuses to go against the whitehouse.

1. That's how "you" people lost the war in Vietnam....
You wanted to show the people back home all the blood and guts. You didn't want to go along with the censorship that was required to 'win' the war. How in the world do you expect to win a war if you let the people see the limbs and heads lying in the ditches and roadsides? You know people don't like to see little children blown to bits. You need to get behind your country and stop being so unpatriotic!

2. Proof of corporate media subservience to political power.
This is another huge story that is being suppressed.

3. The terrorists are TAPING a lot of their attacks and they are available
to the media worldwide. There is a site out there on the internets that has tape of a BUNCH of attacks from April. Of course it includes some of their propaganda overlays, but the US media could remove that. Whenever I see network coverage that involves simulated diagrams of what happened, I always suspect that they have 'live tape' of it, otherwise they could not make the simulations. Now, let me tell you if you find that site and watch the attacks, you will see that NO amount of armor is going to prevent death and catastrophic wounding when the hits are DIRECT. The explosions are massive, truck, Hummer, and tank parts are blown 30-50 feet in the air.

4. I bet they won't let us see the coffins either?
when they arrive at Dover.

This is how Bu$h dishonors the dead every day. He has no respect for anyone or anything.

5. Why do you hate America?????
Edited on Sun Jun-26-05 10:45 AM by TheDebbieDee
repukes have made telling the truth synonymous with hating America, undermining our government's anti-terrorist efforts and providing propaganda to the enemy.

I agree, Americans, all Americans, should see the bodies, the trauma, the horror, the destruction that is actually going on in Iraq. Americans need to SEE what is happening to PEOPLE in Iraq, not be told what is happening to Iraqi citizens. Right-wing Americans need to be reminded that Iraqis are people, too.

But all our useless media shows us the sanitized version of what is going on in Iraq.

6. But violence in movies is just fine.
In fact, every conceivable horror can be seen in films.

So this kind of goes against our own reality coming out of the boob toob.

7. Good Point Reality enthralled Americans reduced to watch simulations
of what happens to our fighting men and women in the heat of battle.

8. "Look at that SOB run !"
Was it Gulf War I when the the "video bomb" was zeroing in on a bridge and you could see some guy running for his life? There was a camera on the bomb as it zeroed in on its target. People cheered like it was a touchdown at a football game.

to give the world live coverage of the 'shock and awe' bombing of Iraq.
What hypocrites.
