2. I hadn't seen that one.
Though I saw a lot of propaganda in school.
I'd like to see a version that replaces the visuals with current events, but keeps the old soundtrack.

6. Thanks from me also.
That's the first time I had ever heard of it, although I hit Information Clearing House on a regular basis. I too will pass it on.

I noticed that the Pledge of Allegiance was given in the original form ... the King James version, so to speak ("One Nation, Indivisible ....").

8. WOW - I hope I can figure out a reason to show this in
Introductory Psychology. If you haven't clicked on the link - the movie is less than 10 minutes long and here is a summary:

WHEN a community/nation is -

Low in economic balance (such that income disparity is high and the people with lower salaries pay an unfair portion of their salaries in taxes) and -

High in information control (via an educational system that teaches uncritical acceptance of information and corporate- or government- biased media) then -

THEN it is likely that the community/nation will be -

Low on respect for all (discrimination in jobs; opportunities for work; hatred for racially- or politically-defined groups) and -

Low on shared power (corporate- or government-control; elections are farces) and -

THEN we know that despotism (rather than democracy) is in action even when the slogans or stated ideals say the opposite.

=====================
Personal addition - the effect of educational system is illustrated in a survey conducted in the past year or so (sorry, no link) in which people were asked whether they agreed with the statement "Government is too complex for me to understand." A huge proportion of young adults who had attended public and parochial schools agreed, while a very small number of people who had been home-schooled agreed.

48,000 'ephemeral' movies (industrial, training, educational, government, propaganda and advertising topics).

Lots of them are downloadable. I've spent hours on end there just watching really weird old shit (like an oil company training film about setting up operations in Saudi Arabia in the 50's, etc...). This is where I originally saw the film mentioned in the original post.
