Sign Senator Kennedy's petition: RUMSFELD MUST RESIGN
http://www.tedkennedy.com/page/petition/rumsfeldresign

Rumsfeld Must Resign
Secretary Rumsfeld has been consistently wrong about Iraq:

- He wrongly insisted after Saddam fell that there was no guerilla war, even though our soldiers continued to be killed.
- He wrongly sent our service members into battle without proper armor.
- He’s exaggerated our success in training capable Iraqi security forces.
- He’s mismanaged the war, and created an impossible situation for our military recruiters.

Our soldiers need more than a PR campaign from the Administration to win this war. They need honesty and new leadership.

Join Senator Kennedy calling for Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld to resign.

11. yeah, cause bush is weak and the sea of red is ignorant he will stay
It seems that the republicans feel that if they admit anything was wrong then the sea of red will realize that they lie all the time. Bush is too weak of a leader to admit when something is wrong, to actually hold people accountable, or to actually do what America needs. Rummy knows he messed up, but Bush's handlers will never admit defeat or even compromise.

56. So why would any executive want to keep
someone around who offered their resignation? Obviously that person doesn't want the job any more. If I were an executive who received a resignation letter, I would be hesitant to keep that person on board. How enthusiastic do you think that person would be about doing their job when they really want to resign?

It's no wonder Harken Energy, etc., went down the tubes. The CEO president...give me a break.

Unless this whole resignation thing is just a dog-and-pony show for the press and the people. Naaaah...that would never happen!

51. Yeah, but if that happens, it's just more shit in the bedpan.
And eventually, even the ickiest bedpan HAS to be emptied - or thrown out. It can't be ignored any longer.

If he digs in and stays, it's just more ammunition for our side. His continued errors mean more crap for bush to deal with. They can't hold this thing up forever. Even the "invincible" kkkarl rove will eventually meet his match. And the bigger they are, the harder they fall. May not be exactly when and how we want it to happen (unfortunately), but a house of cards is NOT built to stand strong forever. By its very nature it simply cannot.

I'm starting to think that it may be just a matter of time for these "people."

Rumsfailed Admitted to Violating Geneva Convention

Rumsfailed admitted in public on TV that when CIA Director Tenet requested that an Iraqi prisoner be sent to a secret Afghan/US Prison that Rumsfailed did so. After four months a DOD Attorney stated that this was an illegal act. Rumsfailed then ordered that this prisoner be sent back to Abu Graihib but the prisoner was purposefully not listed at that location, also an illegal act. Rumsfeld also admitted to signing orders for tougher interogation methods which violated the Geneva Conventions.

Rumfailed has commited at least three violations of the Geneva Convention thereby also violations of The Constitution of the USA. Recently it has been found out that even more detainees were "ghost detainees". The fact that Rumsfailed and Tenet have not been charged speaks volumes. If Congress wishes to garner any respect they should move forward with Rep. Rangle's Impeachment Declaration of Rumsfailed and also proscecute Ex. CIA Tenet.

He will be indicted and prosecuted much faster than in any impeachment. His immunity goes bankrupt since he is no longer an SoD.

28. He also failed to take proper measures to either secure or
destroy all of the following:

http://msnbc.msn.com/id/6376212

and that failing to do so, is therefore FULLY RESPONSIBLE for the maiming and/or the death of every single human being (Iraqui, American, or of any other country) who's personal life was affected by them being (mis-)used.

This war criminal is also guilty of criminal negligence...

Dear Senator Kennedy,
I wholeheartedly support your call for the resignation of Donald Rumsfeld. He has pushed for this illegal war in Iraq, mismanaged it miserably and brought us into a hopeless quagmire all to reminicient of Viet Nam. We must get out now, rather than waste years and thousands of lives in a lost cause. There were no WMD, we havent brought a real democracy, and the devistation to Iraq is now worse than what was done by Saddam. Rumsfeld must go...ant we should get out now. Viet Nam was better off after we left, Iraq will be too.

Signed.

Comments:

He offered his resignation to President Bush last year after it became clear that he ignored, and perhaps advanced, the abuse of detainees in U.S. custody, many of whom were/are innocent.

After so many atrocities and failures, he should have the decency to step down of his own volition, and do an enormous favor to Americans, the Constitution, the Iraqi people, and the fight against terror.

59. The Republicans' "endangering our troops" hypocrisy
Every time someone like Durbin or Newsweek dares to criticize the Great and Powerful Bush and the way his administration is handling the Iraq war, the Republican echo chamber accuses him or her of "endangering the troops". Yet they keep the incompetent Rumsfeld in charge. With his underestimation of troop requirements and sending soldiers into harm's way with inadequate protection, Rummy has more American soldiers' blood on his hands in just 2+ years than all the liberal critics put together could amass in a dozen lifetimes.
