THIS IS WAR! I need some GOP quotes slamming democrats |
|
Edited on Mon Jun-27-05 06:18 PM by PretzelWarrior
basically, people are going with the MEME that Dean and other Democrats are slamming Republicans but there are no examples of such language by elected officials on GOP side.
I am racking my brain looking through google and am not finding them.
Please help me with some of the gems from the past couple of years. I know Bush and CHeney and various Rethug congress critters have made outrageous statements against Democrats or "liberals" but I need ammo for a debate.

Karl Rove: "All liberals wanted to offer terrorists was indictments and therapy, while conservatives wanted to offer them war."
Rick Santorum: "The democrats are behaving in the same fashion. I mean, if you were to look at Nazis, that's what we have here!"
Bill Frist: "We need a true conservative judge who will uphold the rule of god, its obvious the democrats don't like god."
Dick Cheney: "Howard Dean doesn't impress me. He's never been elected to anything. Maybe his mother loved him, but I don't know a person who did."

Rep. John Hostettler (R-Ind.) seems intent to win the "Congress' nuttiest lawmaker" award. It's stiff competition, but Hostettler has made real strides.
snip,...
Hostettler, speaking against the amendment, asserted that "the long war on Christianity in America continues today on the floor of the House of Representatives" and "continues unabated with aid and comfort to those who would eradicate any vestige of our Christian heritage being supplied by the usual suspects, the Democrats."
"Like a moth to a flame, Democrats can't help themselves when it comes to denigrating and demonizing Christians," he said.
Rick Santorum and Frist:
The fight between Republicans and Democrats inflamed passions to the point where Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum, the third ranking Republican, drew parallels between the "hubris" of Democrats and that of German dictator Adolf Hitler.
This morning, Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist will take an official step to proceed toward a vote on Owen's nomination, starting the clock ticking toward a showdown over whether Democrats will retain their right to block judicial nominees with the filibuster.

3. Santorum on the floor of the Senate in May comparing Dems to Nazis... |
|
It was in the context of the judicial nominee filibuster debate. Don't have the exact quote but I'm sure it is an easy Google. It was repulsive!

"When the culture is sick, every element in it becomes infected. While it is no excuse for this scandal, it is no surprise that Boston, a seat of academic, political and cultural liberalism in America, lies at the center of the storm." - Rick Santorum :wow:   :wow: http://capitolbuzz.blogspot.com/2005/06/santorum-blames-boston-for-catholic.html

7. There were vile things said.... |
|
about Hillary Clinton when she was legally elected Senator from New York by Lynn Cheney, and some male Republican who I cannot remember (Pataki?). The thing Cheney said was so offensive I called the White House and told them to tell her to shut the f#$@ up, that no one voted for Lynn Cheney for anything, and until they did she should keep her opinions to herself.

9. Are you googling Democrat or liberal? |
|
You'll find lots of vitriol about liberals. And don't let them undercut you with "but it's not the SAME as Democrat!" Because don't forget that after they smear libs as immoral, tree hugging, unpatriotic, terrorist sympathizers they go on to claim that "John Kerry is the most liberal Senator!".
