Bush's speech will fail because Bush is angry at us.
We're starting to "turn" on Bush. For this narcissist, that's a no-no. Thou shalt not question the president.

So now he has to come before us less worthy individuals... and explain his case... "again"... (sighhhhhh)...

I don't think he's going to give this "speech" the effort recapturing the public sentiment requires. Perhaps many of the talking heads will laud what he says, for once more he beat F-level expections, but overall the effort will be the equivalent of tossing a bucket of water on a five-alarm fire.

Good luck, poser.

1. His speech will fail because he CAN'T speak!!!!!
Wonder if Vegas has odds on how many errors he can make in one speech?

2. He's going to promise us all free puppies and more tax breaks
He's got nothing left. Watch for something his media...oops, er...THE media...can glom onto and talk about for three or four days.

3. No, I can guarantee that he will be praised by the Corp. Media...
He still controls who gets a press pass.

14. There is a point....
... ( and it could be reasonably argued that point has already been reached ) where the cable news' incessant whoring does little to endear folks to Bush** but does a lot to destroy the credibility of the media itself.

You can only piss down someone's leg and tell them it's raining for so long. Americans are waking up, and they are going to be just as angry at the whore media as they are at the administration.

4. Let me know how it goes...
I can't stand the sight or the sound of him. I haven't watched a "speech" of his in ages. I don't think I will start now either.

8. It's fun to "watch" via DU....
I can't stand to listen/watch him, but I did follow it on-line via DU posts and was laughing out loud. THAT made it fun.

6. Good Observation
I think you may be right. Bush has often been described as a peevish person and if he's been fed any of he bad news at all he can't be happy with 'the faithful'. He may indeed present the speach in a bad humor and it may very well be taken badly even by his most ardent followers. There are a lot of people in this country today who want to hear something realistic come out of his mouth, they have supported him for years and got nothing for it, now they are haveing big buyer's remorse. If he comes off as peevish he will never regain the support he once held.

9. I want to watch him posture and squirm
Now more than ever I wonder from what planet do his supporters come ? Its getting more and more wierd having to hear him justify his invasion and occupation.

These are troubling times and the chimp has some 'splaining to do .
There's been a lot of Kool aid passed around these past few years. That's all I can figure.

I do feel concern that as the chimps sandcastle melts things are going to only get more and more unsettling and dangerous.

11. bush will scold us for not supporting the troops. Rove gave us a trial
balloon of this. Americans will take what he says to heart because they can't remember what they ate for supper let alone the lies bush told as proven in the DSM.

15. He has that cranky, petulant disposition naturally
Even when he was Mr. Riding High In The Polls he always came across like the spoiled, whiny little shit he is. Now he'll be worse, IMHO.

17. Did you see him at the Winter Olympics right after 9/11?
He REALLY looked like the spoiled boy king, shifting uncomfortably around in his chair. I wish I could find a picture of him when the Iraqi athletes walked in.

18. I don't know about narcissist - "sociopath" seems more accurate
A narcissist doesn't necessarily demand absolute loyalty - a sociopath does.
