WTF could it be reporting? ABC, CNN, & NBC all said that the clapping |
|
was staged and prompted by White House staff.
What is next DSM? Stolen Elections? :bounce:

Terry Moran reported it as it was "happening".
Something tells me that the mood of the press has shifted somewhat.

28. Maybe they're tired of being used, manipulated, threatened and intimidated |
|
by these White House weasels. Kind of a sly, nifty little way to get even, 'eh?
Even CNN noted that the applause was subdued, and only once (gasp!) did the audience interrupt the speech to applaud. What the hell did they expect, a ticker-tape parade? I'm surprised that nobody brought a whoopee cushion with 'em. I certainly would have!

11. Not only surprising that they reported it but that |
|
the military gave only staged and coached responses. Even the military, usually proBush, didn't have enthusiasm for him.

Started the clapping tho the soldiers had been warned against it.
Could it be that the bush-ites didn't think Shrubless was being particularly effective without sound effects?

12. Maybe If Chimpy Didn't Pimp So Obviously For Clapping ... |
|
I noticed a couple of times that Dear Leader would stop just a little too long and look out longingly to the crowd as if he thought there would be applause and wasn't. So I'm guessing the court jesters and courtiers surrounding him panicked and had to give him some. NBC even asked why there was virtually no applause (something about "following military protocol," nyuck nyuck nyuck).
Face it: when you have a captive audience like that and they sit there stone-faced, you SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUKED!

20. "following military protocol"? That's not what happened on USS Lincoln! |
|
When Chimp did his "Mission Accomplished" speech, the crew was very enthusiastic and applauded Bush several times. A lot has happened since Bush landed on the deck of the Lincoln.
Tonight was Bush's "Stay the Course" speech. In six months, Bush will be giving his "I'm not a Crook" speech.

All that time, no clapping. And then suddenly they start clapping 23 minutes into the speech?? I thought to myself, "Someone must've told them to clap or something."

It sounds like he didn't say anything substantive other than "Stay the course. 9-11. Stay the course," so how was it not a meaningless gesture to boost his sagging poll numbers, or if you will, a "pep rally"?

Focusing on who started the clapping distracts us from the real issues.

25. Who among the mediawhores called him on that (besides Clark on FAUX) |
|
I only watched ABC and then FAUX, but ABC was whoring up one side and down the other until Terry Moran brought up the fake applause. Charles Gibson and George Snuffalupagus were both addressing the Iraq=9/11 comments without seperating the two. And if General Clark hadn't brought up the point on FAUX, nobody else on that network would have.
Just wondering who DID call him out on it. I can't see Leslie Blitzer or Timwhore Russert doing it.

27. I guess it is a start... |
|
I wish they'd analyze it even further than that.
* says we must "prepare ourselves", "sacrafice", blah, blah, blah...
It wouldn't be too hard for the MSM to point out that mostly the poor and middle classes are doing the sacraficing, while * and the Elites are doing the profiting.
They could point out how * has made this country weaker by squandering our resources into the war and overstretching our troops.
The could mention the DSM and how it refutes Bushes claims tonight.
There is so much more they could cover.
