1. Shouldn't your thread title end in a question mark?
I see links there questioning whether Time will reveal the source and saying they might, not saying they will.

Hope they do.

Will Time Inc. Hand Over Documents and Keep Cooper Out of Jail?

By Joe Strupp

Published: June 28, 2005 4:00 PM ET

NEW YORK When Matthew Cooper of Time magazine and Judith Miller of The New York Times return late Wednesday afternoon to face the federal judge who ordered them to jail last fall for refusing to reveal confidential sources, two different outcomes may emerge.

While New York Times officials have maintained that Miller will not reveal the source who leaked to her the identity of CIA agent Valerie Plame, a source close to Time Inc. told E&P that the company is considering handing over documents that would reveal the source.

Cooper declined to comment.

8. Poor Editor & Publisher...
Its reporting arrives here not first-hand, not second-hand, but third-hand. From americablog via dailykos. On the one hand, as a news consumer, I applaud the dissemination of information. On the other, as a reporter, I groan in frustration.

10. If Time knows
Why the heck don't they report the person or persons responsible? Doesn't a publishing company that knows who committed treason have some obligation to inform the public? What a bizare world today.

12. Time would probably say -- "Someone's been charged with treason?"
That would certianly be news to them.

And yes, if the Plame leaker were charged with treason, if there were no other reasonable way to get the information, and if the information had to be produced quickly, a journalist and.or the company he works for can be forced to burn sources.

11. Even if they do reveal...
we won't hear about it for a while if ever. It looks like they'd be handing evidence to the grand jury... not announcing it to the world.

13. Protect whistleblower sources, not those in White House committing treason
by outing CIA operatives.
