Should we boycott Diebold? |
|
If you believe that we cannot get a fair election as long as Diebold controls the voting machines, and Diebold continues to resist or lobby against uniform nationwide voting procedures with a paper trail, what other recourse do we have? I believe that the only thing that means anything to Diebold is money, just a the bus boycott was successful during the civil rights struggle, I believe this is our best strategy at getting voting reform. One thing is for certain the Republican controlled congress could care less about legitimate elections. If we have to wait until we come to power to enact legitimate voting reform, we will be fighting against the wind for a longer time, or we could start a boycott today. At the very least we would be acting instead of reacting.

I am thinking maybe tell companies that use Diebold for verification services or Diebold machines that we won't shop there until they get someone else.

3. No...Get Dem Senators with a BACKBONE to take them on..... |
|
Jesus...I can't believe how they sit on their ass for YEARS and just let this roll on. Election machine reform should be a top priority or it doesn't matter who the hell you run for office.

5. It cost the African American community when they |
|
boycotted the buses, this will not be painless, if your anytime teller machine is a Diebold go somewhere else or change banks, or keep extra cash out when you deposit so that you do not have to use their machines. Someone else on this thread mentioned another company, we can either boycott them also or put them as #2 in line after Diebold changes. The Democratic Senators cannot enact voting reform on their on and I do not believe the Republicans will seriously help them. It is all about the money.

6. I see your point but once the machines are in place... |
|
and paid for by the banks (I'm not switching banks) it seems a bit pointless.
I think what needs to come to the attention (and that's what boycotts are for in part) of the American people that votes can be deleted, added and elections rigged using Diebold.

7. It would certainly bring attention to the public |
|
if we boycotted Diebold. Changing banks is an inconveinence and for some people it may be next to impossible, but if enough people were to let their banks know that we will not go quietly in the night as long as they have Diebold Machines we take our business elsewhere. Even if you cannot change banks, do whatever you can to avoid getting your money from one of their machines.

8. I'm an officer of election. Here's my advice if you don't like Diebold |
|
Vote Absentee Ballot. It's done on paper. There's actually proof of your vote being for who you cast.
My city uses the Diebold Accuvote-Tsx. After working with these machines, I'm gonna keep voting absentee.

Go cash a check to yourself at the bank and this is a better way to watch your spending. The banks will have a fit if people stop using the Diebold ATMs!

to count votes. If anyone can do an accurate count, it's them! And with less corruption than with politicians.
