GOP lawmaker: Saddam linked to 9/11
Complete bullshit. After I just finished reading Richard Clarke's "Against All Enemies" how he clearly explains the deceit of Bush and the Repugs on linking Iraq to 9/11 then retracting their comments after the invasion was underway.

<snip>NEW YORK (CNN) -- A Republican congressman from North Carolina told CNN on Wednesday that the "evidence is clear" that Iraq was involved in the terrorist attacks against the United States on September 11, 2001.<snip>

1. This is our Rubicon.
It's here where we need to go forward and challenge them everytime they repeat that lie. Because everytime they repeat it, another ten idiots who listen to Rush Limbaugh will repeat it, and those people will tell another ten, and then they in turn will tell another ten... And before you know it, it will become impossible to stop the march into the Valley of Death that Bush is taking this country.

3. Rep. Robin Hayes (R-NC) should be locked up.

"Saddam Hussein and people like him were very much involved in 9/11," Rep. Robin Hayes said.

Told no investigation had ever found evidence to link Saddam and 9/11, Hayes responded, "I'm sorry, but you must have looked in the wrong places."

Hayes, the vice chairman of the House subcommittee on terrorism, said legislators have access to evidence others do not.

I watched that interview. There's a dent in my desk where my jaw dropped. The guy is a total whackjob -- he lives in his own Cloud Cuckooland.

4. I too witnessed this:
Even Carol Costello could not contain her shock.

This man is friggin insane. With louts of this sort aloud on the airwaves and his ditto clones drinking their morning coffee and nodding their heads, do we wonder how in god's name, 45% approve of a man who lied this country into war?

I would some hard earned cash to contribute to this wacko's defeat.

6. This is about the third or fourth time I've seen this story
So it's not like nobody gives a shit.

Anyway, for what it's worth, apparently Rep. Hayes thinks that if he repeats his lie often enough it will come true. He also probably claps the hardest during Peter Pan when Tinkerbell's about to take a dirt nap and Peter urges the audience to clap and show that they believe in fairies. A nice little bit of blackmail to liven up a kiddy show.
