Candy Crowley (CNN): "The Dean campaign will go on"
She's been spending time with the campaign, and said that the mood is becoming upbeat again; she also said that while they would obviously prefer a win, they'll take a second-place finish. She said the campaign still has plenty of money and has absolutely no intention of 'closing up shop', regardless of what happens in NH.

:)

1. Oh my God!! Is Dean going to drop out?

Given that Crowley is incapable of anything but lies, I wonder what the hell is going on???

:)

Crowley should NEVER be covering a Democratic race. She has shown her colors as an extremely partisan Repug and is incapable of objectivity.

3. Yeah.
Oddly enough, it was a fairly even-handed report, for her. :hi:

16. But Paddy, do you think she was fair because it's in her best
interest? I still think the Bushes would most like to face Gov. Dean in the GE, and I wouldn't put much past ol' Candy, i.e., she'd prop him up if it would help her retain the title of "butterbean" :)

Her Bush-bestowed nick was butterbean, wasn't it? Or something like that?

17. Not sure.
First I've heard about the nick, but it fits, because she IS shaped like one. :P

Oddly enough, NBC just reported that their polls shows the race tightening, too, just like CNN's did. Tuesday should be very interesting, regardless. :)

22. OT, but I got the nick wrong!
It's Dolce (Spanish for, what else, candy), not butterbean. But he did name someone butterbean, I just can't think of who it was.

7. You Know, That Wasn't Funny, IMO
Even though Dean may not win the TopSpot, he has a GIFT for rousing the public and plain talk.

Dean NEEDS to at least salvage his campaign to the point where he can be EFFECTIVE advocate for the Democratic Party.

He is too valuable to trash him.

I have differences with Dean and his positions, how he campaigned etc. but am smart enough to recognize someone who can move people.

4. Of course the movement will go on
Because that is what this is; a movement, not a "campaign" in the ordinary sense. This is a movement to take back control of the Democratic primary and crush the neo-conservative agenda that has dominated this country for the past two decades. HOW THE HELL CAN YOU NOT VOTE FOR THAT?!

15. Well, I want a President that will do what is best for the country

not one who's goal is to change the Democratic Party. The best way to lead is by example; do the right thing for the country, and both the Democratic AND Republican parties will change.

13. Having watched Crowley for months now...
She always has a positive word for Dean's campaign, and scathing criticism of anyone who dares challenge her preciousss one.

For my part, I hope Dean's campaign is turning around; he deserves to be judged fairly, not by excessive repetition of one event. Repetition, yes; excessive repetition, no. But Cowley has been so biased from day one that I don't take anything she says seriously.

Edited on Sun Jan-25-04 06:56 PM by Padraig18
It's been hilarious to hear them discuss who Dean's support will go to if he doesn't win NH. Best laugh I've had since I came down with the flu. Anyone follish enough to even ask that sort of a question obviously doesn't 'get it' about the Dean campaign.:P

20. Novak just said Dean is almost out of money because he's pulling ads
in some key states

and novak looked totally smashed during that segment.

21. Once again, he is NOT pulling ads.
NBC just did a story on it, and he is waiting to target states after Tuesday to INCREASE his advertizing, but all current advertizing remains in place.

Nofacts is a drunken, Republican shill.
