Very sad day indeed....and very curious timings......
Noose starting to come down big time on Rove, *, etc. Markets starting to stabilize. Was watching CNN - 3 hours after the blast and it took that long to post when they happened (up until near 7 AM, no times were given). 3 hours after the blast and they are still not confirming other buses, etc that are rumored. Just curious, that's all.

So - if indeed this is Al Queda (and I noted starting early that CNN was playing the terra card, connection with Al Q, big time) - again curious - who will make the connection that if this is indeed Al Queda, Blair/* went after the wrong guy - Saddam - and left Bin Laden to do his bidding, if indeed this is his.

The news spin and scramble will really be something from this.

9. Me too just big enough to jam up
the media for a while, reinforce America's fear, and get Rove and Co. out of the spotlight. Hell the CIA could have set up a pipe bomb on the subway as a dsitraction for all we know. If so does Tony have any idea?

2. This may have nothing to do with Bush..
Blair is sending something like 5,000 more troops to Afganistan.. That may be the connection...

4. BBC says two dead

Somebody wanted more panic than deaths for the start of the G8 summit- I wonder who that could be. Funny that they haven't stopped the England v Australia cricket match.

6. FYI: There was no such thing as Iraqi terrorists before we invaded.
National Security Council staffer Richard Clarke points that out in his book.

7. Sad day for everyone but Bush. Deep inside he's jumping for joy
As terrible as this is for Great Britain, Bush knows that this will stir up the anti-terrorist sentiment, and at the same time will give him the opportunity to start repeating that worn-out slogan of his how it's "his solemn duty to protect America". Since it was someone else who got attacked, he comes out of this as looking like we're not as vulnerable to attacks because of "what he's doing to protect us."

I have no doubts that Rove will be instructing him later today to use the type of wording in his speech to take the most advantage of this tragic situation. You're going to hear more than once how it's his solemn duty to protect America. I've never been a big MIHOP wonderer, but this incident makes me wonder.

8. Yes, but

The Bush Admin can definitely be counted on the use this for their 911-911-911-911 speechifying. But I'm beginning to feel a shift in the American public mind. Atleast 50% believe he lied to start the war. If common sense prevails, people will see that this is proof that we are NOT safer because of Bush's adventures.

The Spaniards weren't fooled when they were attacked by Al Qaeda, and I have faith that the Brits won't be fooled either. True, WE were. But that was at the beginning of this whole mess before Bush and his pals made it worse. And I think we might be coming around.

P.S. What is MIHOP?

10. I sure hope we are
coming around.

MIHOP is "made it happen on purpose." LIHOP is "let it happen on purpose."
