If ever there is a time for Tony Blair to do something great it is now....

Prime Minister Blair,
You are an intelligent, articulate man. You came into office with so much promise, you were a well-respected FOB. (you know, Friend of Big Dawg)

What happened? You fucked up buddy! You got engaged in the dumbest foreign policy move ever. Sure, you tried to get Bush to slow up. Sure, you pushed him toward the U.N., convinced him to let inspectors go to Iraq, but in the end, when the chips were down, you let your country and the world down. True, the U.S. and Britain are great friends, and you decided to back your friend's play, but at what cost? You ruined your political career. Yeah, you won a third term, but everybody knows that you're just holding down the fort for Gordon Brown, because you sucked less than the other guy. Everybody knows that the Tories are so inept that they make our Democrats look like world beaters come election time. So don't pat yourself on the back for that, Tony. You have a lot to own up to. You've cost a lot of lives. Maimed too many good human beings.

Right now, you should be the premier leader in the world. The way Bill Clinton was when he left office. He was mobbed by adoring crowds. Loved world wide. You can't even walk out of 10 Downing Street without a protest being tossed in your face. How does that feel to be such an underachiever? Tony, you could have been great. Woe is the day you decided to be Bush's lap dog. I've seen the photoshopped pictures of you with the dog collar. It even shames me. Because I always wanted to like you. Always thought you were the next big thing. The next great world leader.

Instead all I see is you wearing that dog collar. Playing puppy to a man who isn't supposed to even be in your class. You aren't a friend of America. Or a leader of Great Britain. You're a second fiddle to a Chimp. But that could all change. Right now. In London's darkest hour you could rise above your own ashes and shake up the world. You can be that man, Tony. Prime Minister Blair. The great Tony Blair. It could happen. It should happen. The world is waiting for you to do something great. To fulfill any promise that you ever had. To make us hope again. To dream. On 9-11, Rudy Giuliani became a national hero by simply not tucking his tale and running. But, Rudy isn't you. You could be much more. You just need to do it. Do what's right. Figure it out. The world is waiting.

Because the time is now.

1. The time is now for the people of Britain to do to Blair
what the people of Spain did to that abettor of terrorism, Jose Maria Asnar.

Get rid of him or you will never know security and peace. Blair's gamble which was to make Labour appear as compliant to US militarism as the Conservatives, has not only failed but brought ruin on your capital. GET RID OF HIM !

3. if Blair doesn't rise up and do something great, he's done
this is his one chance. There is nothing else that can save him. He may not ever be redeemed for his sins, but he can take a step out of Bush's idiocy.

But don't bet on him to do it.

4. What, exactly, do you envision him doing?
If he does anything even vaguely aginst the wishes of Washington, his government will fall so fast it'll give you whiplash... the Bushies will see to it.

Then, again, if he doesn't do something great, soemthing that breaks with Washington in some way, his own people may take his governement down.

I think he's doomed, either way, so he should just go out in a blaze of glory, and take his troops the hell out of Iraq tomorrow morning, and let Washington worry about it.

I know... I'm dreaming.

7. That's the problem, he's screwed himself so bad
he's damned either way.

He needs to disassociated himself from Bush, admit Iraq was a mistake, and fight an more efficient war on terror. He needs to be a leader. Quit dodging around like a scurrying little rat. Inspire. Bring hope.

And resign at the end of the year.

8. his legacy will never live that fuck up down
It'll be tough for him to stand up and be great, when his involvement in Bush's Folly, was a cause of this tragedy, in the first place.

To tell his people how safe Iraq made them, well, it might work if his name was Bush and he was talking to one of those idiots who thinks he's God, but Tony doesn't have that luxury. The Brits have wanted his blood for awhile. Blair is a tragic figure actually. Here is a guy who just pissed it all away. And for what? I guess the even bigger tragedy is what he did to his own people. Awful.
