Looking through Rove-colored glasses |
|
I just watched "Shocking and Awful" on Free Speech TV and I want to cry. What, pray tell, has happened to our collective national conscience and why have we allowed our "leaders" to transform this nation into a monstrous, imperialistic bully capable of war crimes and rampant human degradation? It`s so twisted...a nation outraged at the sight of Janet Jackson`s bare breast yet willing to vote for an administration that drops cluster bombs and wires genitals up to electrodes.
The tree-huggers are eco-terrorists, the protestors are unpatriotic, the liberals are without values and the Blue-Staters don`t go to church. That about sums up the offerings from our corporate media, with an occasional Tom Cruise story or a debate on low-carb diets. We`re killing people...lots of people... every single day but our media deliver an hourly report on Aruba. Are you glad London won the Olympic bid over Paris? Who should be our next American Idol? Vote now.
Democrats seem to be desperate to identify potential party leaders. What about Senator X in 08? What about Congressman Z? Here`s my question...How about someone with some guts? Someone who has the courage to ignore corporate cash cows and call a spade a spade? How about someone with an intact conscience who`s willing to shed some light on the Republican`s asinine mantra: If you`re against the war, you`re against the troops. Maybe someone who would at least talk with the veterans at Veterans for Peace or Operation Truth. Not too much "we`re spreadin` freedom" crap from them. These are some of the bravest, most principled people in our country.
I recently unearthed an old protest sign of mine which had the number 387 on it. That number is now around 1751. One thousand seven hundred and fifty one human beings whose chance at life was ended by George W. Bush`s filthy lies. Add to that the thousands and thousands of dead Iraqis and the gazillions maimed and forever changed. Bush and his excellent best friend Tony may be willing to continue to spread their mythical "We`re safer" BS, but people of conscience all over this globe should spread something else...a petition to demand that these two war criminals be held accountable for the demented, heinous terror they`ve inflicted on thousands. My heart aches for the suffering in London today, just like it did (minus the world`s outcry) when many innocent people in Fallujah were melted down onto the earth where their homes once stood.

6. Here in NE, I've been speaking precisely what you have written..... |

People are listening! I cannot find one person in this exceptionally red state, that openly supports bush anymore, this is a dramatic accomplishment...:)
Clinton's 'lie' was an embarrassment; bush's lies have killed thousands...I want justice....

7. I cannot tell you how much I yearn to run against Rep. Weldon |

in Florida but my circumstances just do not allow it....yet. I am hoping there are others like me who can mobilize for 2006. I think the last 6 years have inspired quite a few people who might not have considered elected office before. I think we're going to see some interesting campaigns next year.

8. The Culture of Corruption. |
|
Great post. Thanks.
It seemed so long ago, when the msm did the research, asked the right questions, and did not sell-out. What happened? Where are their souls?
The corporate media is in power. They don't care about "truth-telling".
The Culture of Corruption in this administration gets me sick. They are destroying this country, and the world.
