Dead heat
However, in just the Saturday survey, it was 28 for Kerry to 25 for Dean, a statistical dead heat in the poll’s four-point margin of error. The Friday-only figure was 26-22.

1. Every poll shows some kind of Dean pick up.
We will see how far it goes. I will say that when a candidate has momentum, add a few points to the polls to get what they will do in the actual vote.

2. The 'tracking' polls...
They still include kerry's 'bounce' after Iowa, and are just beginning to show Dean's post-debate and post-TV bounce. We MIGHT pull out a squeaker win--- might. :)

7. Perhaps the voters of NH are beginning to remember why ..
they don't like Kerry and what it was about the Dean message that energized an entire state and campaign.

Perhaps New Hampshire voters really do make up their own minds.

5. Dean is going to give Kerry a run for his money
& I have a good feeling Kerry is not going to know what the hell hit him.

10. Actually, today's CNN/USA Today poll showed...
... a 'tightening race' with Kerry only 7% ahead, and they took pains to mention that Dean's numbers are rising once again, while Kerry's seem to have hit a plateau. :)

and remember this time last week you guys were winning in NH
If Dean wins NH which would be a nice booster, it wont come as a suprise to me, if Kerry does, I wont be either but it is in more ways than Dean. Remember Dean once tripled Kerry in the polls there, the fact that Kerry has come this far back is astonishing as it is. not dissing Dean just giving you my opinion. I personally expect NH to be close, I still never trust polls.

9. Well, what happens to Kerry if Dean wins after all?
Since everyone wants to hang Dean out to dry if he doesn't do well, what happens to the rest of the candidates if he does?

13. The local Boston polls say different
But the effort seemed to do little to stanch the outflow of support, with Dean's events drawing smaller crowds, some endorsers keeping a distance -- most notably former vice president Al Gore -- and daily tracking polls offering little good news for Dean. A new Boston Globe/ WBZ-TV two-day tracking poll conducted Friday night and yesterday indicated that Kerry was increasing his lead, with 38 percent, over Dean, who had 15 percent. The poll also indicated that Dean's approval rating continues to slip among New Hampshire voters surveyed, with 48 percent saying they had a favorable opinion of him and 32 percent saying they viewed him negatively.

What worth local polls? Well, the Des Moines Register nailed almost exactly the outcome of Iowa, so...

14. Of course, Kerry is from Mass, Boston is in Mass
and that wasn't exactly the case in Iowa, was it?

Which candidate was from Iowa? Refresh my memory.

Most every other poll has Dean solidly in second place.
