What have Wilson and/or Plame personally said about all this?
I am hugely conflicted about this whole thing. Maybe I could figure out how I feel if I knew where the people who were the "victims" (for lack of a better word) feel about this whole thing. I know Wilson wrote an anti-Bush book and was outspoken, but what about recently? Any word from either of them? Has Plame said anything at all?

Thanks

5. Let's see...what am I conflicted about?
I'll try to get this down here...

But first I want to thank everybody for their help.

So, back to my conflict...

1. I desparately want Rove to be the leak. Or at least Andy Card. But I have serious doubts that either of them would get in any trouble. That makes me very upset.

2. I don't know if I want Judith Miller to give up her source or just do the time in jail. On the one hand, I don't want her to cover-up something that could really hurt this nation simply in the name of a journalist protecting her source. On the other hand, I have a feeling that forcing her, in one way or another, to reveal her source would somehow hurt the freedom of the press that this country is supposed to have. Which one is more Democratic (as in the party)? And which one is more democratic (as in the country)? Which one should I put more weight on? I just can't tell.

3. I read DU and try to consider everything. I really don't know overly much about Miller's journalistic career except to say that the clear opinion here is that she was a mouthpiece for the administration, which I tend to believe. Maybe if I knew more, I'd be better off. Any suggestions on what I should read?

I think #2 & #3 are the biggest points of conflict. The reason is that I keep having an ongoing argument with my mom (who is a Democrat...on most issues) because she swears by Judith Miller's journalistic integrity and by the idea that if Miller has/had to give up her source, no one would want to be the "source" for any scoops because of the threat of being outed. I take the position that the leak put someone in danger and therefore the whole story has to come out. Besides, would stemming the anonymous sources be such a bad thing? Anyway, the argument keeps going round and round.

Well, you're probably completely confused now. I know I still am. But you asked what I was conflicted about. Does any of this make sense? I'm really open to anything.

Thanks again!!!!

2. Other than Wilson saying he wanted Rove "frog-marched"
out of the White House in handcuffs, I don't guess he has an opinion. Duh!

3. I read an article this morning at Buzzflash (sorry, no link...)
on thier front page in which Joe Wilson claimed he was sure that Rove would be endicted soon over this. He also spoke at length at the Conyers DSM hearings (saw it on C-SPAN).

4. A link to Ambassador Wilson's response...
is in today's Blog Box column on the DU homepage.

It's a great response, by the way!
