Democrats need to challenge the Bush policies more vigorously
On C-SPAN this AM, an author of a book called Fortress America, mentioned that in many ways, America "had been set back" by the policies of George W Bush. And he was absolutely right.

Instead of supporting Bush and his "war on terror", the Democrats need to challenge the way he has handled the war on terror and the war on Iraq. Some Democrats have been very vocal, but overall, a large part of our Party leadership has supported the Bush war policies.

Unfortunately for our country, Bush has been a miserable failure. As our border security and coastal security has weakened, this Administration has carried on a war in Iraq under the false pretense of "fighting them there so we don't have to fight them here". We are now spending about $200 billion a year on that war that we could use to make our country more secure.

It is time to let the American people know that the Bush policy is a failure. The Bush supporters will point out that Bush has done a good job because we haven't been attacked since 9/11. But that has nothing to do with the Bush policies. Individual cities have strengthened their police forces and are more responsible than Bush for their own security. In fact, this Administration has cut funds for their "homeland security" and/or distributed it like pork to every congressional district.

Basically, the time has come for the Democrats to point out that the emperor has no clothes. And he also has no rational policy. He has created more terrorists and made the situation much, much worse than it should have been. George W Bush has to accept responsibility for these policies that have weakened our nation. And we are weaker- not stronger - under this leadership.

1. Dems challenge Bush? And risk not getting invited to a cocktail party?
Have you seen the size of those cocktail weenies they have nowaday?

Speaking of weenies, our party leadership has been exactly that for quite some time. A few lone voices aren't enough, you're right, they need to get after it.

2. Absolutely spot on
For them to give up the good life? Fuck us!

There are very few politicians of any brand that still believe themselves to be representatives of a constituency. We are going to have to take their places, and won't that spoil our distractions from reality?
