Another reason to avoid Domino's (Dominionist) Pizza
July 8, 2005, 6:25 PM

NAPLES, Fla. (AP) -- The fledgling Ave Maria University has established a scholarship in the name of Terri Schiavo for students planning careers in the priesthood, officials announced Friday.

The Terri Schindler-Schiavo Scholarship for pre-theologate students aims "to carry on Terri's name and assist future priests and laypersons in creating and developing a Catholic culture of life," the university said in a statement.

The liberal arts school was founded by Domino's Pizza magnate Thomas Monaghan, a supporter of conservative Catholic causes in Michigan and elsewhere. <snip>

Set up to become one of the university's annual endowed scholarships, the goal is to have up to $4 million in scholarship money available to students within the next few years, the university said.

"It's great to have an institution willing to take on something like this," said her father, Bob Schindler. "We feel that Terri was chosen by God to combat evil, and what a fine way to pay tribute to her life."<snip>

Dominos and Pizza Hut produce Pizza Substitutes.

If you can't get your fix of the Real Thing from a local pizzeria, keep some Boboli Crusts

on hand along with some preshredded mozzarella cheese, sauce, and toppings of your choice. You can whip up in your oven or toaster oven what you'll have to wait for, and it'll be done in the same time, faster, and better!

12. We used to get the Boboli's all the time
When we lived in Cleveland. I haven't seen them since we moved to Florida. I miss them. You had the perfect pizza, just how you like it, every time.

8. If the dork really wanted to honor Terri
he'd put money into programs for eating disorders. These people are soooooooo misguided...I can just picture the Good Lord shaking his head and going "Will they EVER get it??!" I'm curious how 'Catholic' Terri really was, anyway. If she was at all like me, I quit attending Mass as soon as I was confirmed. I knew as a kid that it wasn't for me!

GOP Senate Candidate Demands Lower Wages in America

Roll Call reports that the National Republican Party is recruiting Domino's Pizza CEO David Brandon as their candidate in the economically-hard-hit state of Michigan. The Wall Street Journal reported that after the 2004 election Brandon was the guy who said he is "counting on the president to counter any potential moves to increase the minimum wage" - even though the minimum wage is nearing a 50-year low in terms of purchasing power. Brandon, a longtime Republican donor, has many weapons at his disposal to make sure wages in his state stay low: Since 1998, Domino's has given the Republican Party more than $100,000 (see links below for details).

16. Culture of Life? The Catholic Church needs more young boys to molest!
Why not save a hundred thousand lives by stopping the war in Iraq? You never hear Bishops or Priests making a huge fuss about this war. I guess the soldiers who are fighting are too old to be attractive (nudge, nudge, wink, wink) to the Catholic Church. And the Iraqis are not even Catholic (which makes it difficult for Priests to molest the children) so they don't give a shit about them. The Catholic Church has absolutely no credibility IMO. When they clean up their own house they can start telling me what to do. (I was raised Catholic - so I feel I can sock it to them a little.) Most religions are just mind-control groups, the Catholic Church is no different - IMO.
