By every measure, George W Bush and the Repubs have been a disaster... |
|
for this country. Do not be ashamed to say it because it is true. We are not safer. Our country is worse in every measurable way. Our economy is much worse. Our military is much weaker. Our nation is much less respected around the world. There is no reason in the world to stand behind this miserable failure any longer. The quicker people can face the truth that Bush has been an unmitigated disaster, the quicker we can start to try and recover from the damage tha has been done. If the right-wingers wish to continue to live in their fantasy land, let them. It's time for the rest of us to face reality.

Oh, and there's that whole economic disaster bit, and oligarchic direction of the country, destruction of civil liberties and possible criminal misconduct as well.

5. It may seem like a simple and obvious statement but... |

we have many elected Democrats that refuse to accept the premise. We need to bring them back to reality and then we will bring the moderate Repubs back to earth also. That is the beginning for ridding our nation of this disease masquerading as conservatism.

The right wingers have a problem. Normal people will only suffer so long before they start to look for the source. The "pain in the ass" we all feel? It has a name: George W. Bush.

7. busheviks dont believe in "country," just money. |

patriotism is just a means to an end for them.
its why they have been willing to degrade this country to the level it has become in pursuit of lucre.

11. One thing it has done well: "soft" fascism. |
|
In a world that, by every measure, should be moving towards greater justice, democracy and equality (but also one in which neoliberalism is becoming a powerful force cutting off democracy at the knees), modern Republicans have taken many of the techniques used by the fascists in the 30s (who were working in a similar historical moment -- the rise of international capital vs the rise of democratic empowerment of ordinary citizens) and have used them to great political success without raising the eyebrows of a critical mass of voters.

The funny thing is, they refuse to listen to anyone!! They know what is best and everyone else can kiss their asses.
Look at Dumsfeld and Iraq -- he wanted to go in with a smaller army and ignored the warnings of the generals. Well, we can all see how that turned out.
