"Fahrenheit 9/11" is STILL a smack between the eyes with a baseball bat
Fahrenheit 9/11...released in theaters Jun 25, 2004. A year later and some change and the star of the movie is still sitting on his throne.

As of today, 1753 U.S. military killed in Iraq.

13,336 U.S. military wounded.

I just got through watching it again on Showtime. I don't know WHY...I bought the DVD on the day it was released and have seen it 20 or 30 times since then, but tonight I watched it.

I can't BELIEVE the scope and magnitude of things we, as a nation, ALLOW George W. Bush to get away with.

I can't believe he got a second term.

I can't believe that good women and men died in London and Bush is using that as proof that his agenda must remain intact.

I just can't fucking believe.

1. Indeed...
I watched Fahrenheit 9/11 on Friday, The Corporation yesterday and the Robert Greenwald doc "Unconstitutional: The War on Our Civil Liberties" today. I am one pissed off liberal this evening!

:grr:

3. F911 ROCKS!
I can't stand all the horrible stuff that went on about MM in the far right! He was so villified, which just shows what a hero he is!
They spent so much $$$ on going after him too.
I just watched Unpresedented- knew most of it but still seemed so shocking ! I wish they- evrryone just would at least consider the facts. NOT ignore them.

2. It absolutely stuns me
that people STILL support this fascist and his entire admin. There is a SERIOUS lack of personal responsability among people who put him in power. If he didn't have the basic knee-jerk support of his party members we wouldn't be in this mess. If it's not close by any means, he can't steal it. Yet he did, twice. And people still support him, is it out of complicit guilt that they can't admit how bad things are ?

4. I can't believe it, either!
It's like The Twilight Zone and 1984 all rolled into one giant bushite regime.

We Will Persevere!

5. And we're supposed to believe the Swift Boat ads damaged Kerry
more than this movie damaged Bush.

It was a very different experience watching this film today after the election and the contined disintigration of everything the good people of this country worked so hard to build, and watching it last summer when I believed the good people would rise up and throw these criminals out of office.

6. F9/11 was one of the reasons why the 2004 vote was so close
Think about it. The Bushistas owned Fox News and controlled the news everywhere else except for Air America and Amy Goodman. They controlled the voting machines. It took Michael Moore to bring Kerry within striking distance of Bush, no matter what the DLC says.

9. I am afraid to say anything more about this topic...

as one of my threads was locked for being "inflammatory". Is this a common thing? Should I talk to a mod, or not speak of it (being locked) anymore... need advice from a 1000+ member. Thanks!

(edit: I don't mean to cause trouble here)

10. The DU Admins / Moderators NEVER get enough credit...NEVER.

Seriously.

The DEGREE of free speech allowed here is amazing.

I don't envy the judgment calls that result in locked / deleted threads and warned / tombstoned posters.

Obviously, the Web Site is "Democratic Underground." But take a look at the lock-step loyalty on Free Republic or ANY other Web Site and you quickly realize that a person has to be LOOKING FOR TROUBLE ON DU...REALLY looking...to FIND it.

Daily Kos has its reasons for the recent decision. I never signed up / posted / whatever, so to be honest, I don't really care. If Daily Kos wants to ban what it considers to be "tinfoil hat" posters and posts, so be it...it's their prerogative.

I think I'll stay right here instead...on DU.

I would post a link to the locked one but I don't want to get into any trouble and I don't want others to think I'm causing trouble... but I didn't think there was anything inflammatory about it. That's the last I'll say here unless in reply to a question, comment or request.

...and all of us must pay for it.
