What do you think would happen |
|
if Osama Bin Ladin were captured this week?
What would be the impact on his organization?
What about terrorism in general?
Afghanistan?
Anything else?

1. His organization will thrive without him.. |
|
Although I'm sure you know that.
It's way beyond Osama now.

2. Everyone would be pleased, but it would not make one bit of difference |
|
to "terrorism in general." Al-Qaeda would go on without him.

3. As with any organization.... |
|
once an ideology or mission becomes entrenched in the minds of it's members, it will continue to thrive without him/her as long as they are convinced the mission is still worthy. Al Queada will probably do better than most because they do not have a centralized system of decision making or authority. Why do you ask, think Bush is ready to get him out of deep freeze now that his poll numbers are in the crapper and he has a traitor in his midst?

4. Impact would be on Bush's polls... |
|
...and not much else I'm afraid. He is an awfully charismatic figure, but I think someone else would fill the vacuum. Also, I doubt he would let us take him alive, and if he died he would just be held up as a martyr.
