Why did Ashcroft Recuse himself from the Plame affair?
With it looking like some type of shit is going to hit the fan for Rove, why wouldn't Asscroft have just stayed on the case and buried it.

3. Well
they did a number on a CIA operative. Hmm me dont think its going to sit well with all those agents. The troops not going to be happy, they know the deal.
Think they cross the line on this.

4. Among other things, he once paid Rove over $700K to
help him in a political campaign. That might not have sat well with anyone.

5. Speaking of trying to bury the story...
The administration probably talked Rehnquist into holding out on announcing his retirement while they desperately try to keep the Rove story under the radar.

The poor guy can barely even walk into the Supreme Court. Wonder what the liklihood of him retiring tomorrow is?

Betcha it's pretty good..

6. Bush planning on packing the Supreme Court ...
...to get Rove off?

Wouldn't be the first time a court was packed with partisans to make the ruling go a certain way.

7. I'm not sure about having the Supreme Court get him off...
But I just have a hunch the Rove story will be BURIED.

U-N-L-E-S-S... Democrats are able to bring the story front and center.

Time will tell..

10. Pallas....
Great reply!

I hope you're right! And I suppose if you think about it.. Joe Wilson and Valerie Plame have kept completely quiet so far.

Once this story is out there.. Americans will want to hear THEIR side of this.

Glad you posted that :)

11. Hi Larissa, JOe Wilson has a website where he has had a lot
to say from the befinning of this.

I doubt that Valerie Plame has or will say anything.. CIA - you don't talk before or after you're with them unless it has the approval of the Director. While MCLaughlin was the director he might
have let her talk, but with Goss as director no one is going to talk
legally anyway.

With Plame's ex-secret position , covert agent, I doubt she'll ever appear anywhere or say anything. Hubby 's doing the talking. :)
