When a Product FAILS, do you buy more of it?
Let's say you bought a monthly extermination service, and the in two months your bug problem was worse than before. If the salesman said, "See, this is exactly why you need our extermination service -- these bugs are BAD" -- would you buy into it?

What if you joined a weight-loss support group, and followed all its diet plans, and within a month you gained 30 pounds. If the group's organizer said, "See, you're fat, and this is exactly why you need to stick with us as a member" -- would you buy into it?

Whether it's an acne solution that makes you break out worse, or a medicine that makes you sicker, or whatever, would you keep faith in something that makes a situation WORSE?

Then why is counter-terrorism Chimpy's "strong suit?"

Bush Cites London Blasts for War on Terror
WASHINGTON -President Bush is citing the bombings on London's mass transit as fresh evidence of the need to aggressively stamp out terrorism, providing a new urgency to the cause that has been the strong suit of his presidency.

1. Some people do - when they're told it's their fault for not buying MORE.
When the company tries to sell you their Top-of-the-Line 'service' that'd cost you your first born child and you opt for something less, they'll INVARIABLY blame their own failure on your penny-pinching ways. People with low self-esteem fall for it.

3. Say loud and often enough that buying something is patriotic
and you'll always find people willing to buy it.
