10. I wonder if the fear factor will backfire on him this time,
once people see just how quickly life in London returned to normal after last Thursday's bombings. We're not cowering in fear over here, so it might make people think twice in the US before buying into the notion that they should be looking for terrorists around every corner once again. That constant terra, terra, terra thing would drive me around the bend if I had to listen to him yammering on about it all the time.

11. Hard to tell, I doubt the average American cares or knows how
London is right now, maybe that is the reason for that stump speech we just heard - too remind the average American to be scared of the bogeyman.

12. Luckily we get spared all those regular speeches of his.
We get soundbites on the news, but don't have to put up with the entire damn things.

You're probably right about the bogeyman and I guess I'm being unrealistically optimistic. I just can't help thinking that surely people are getting tired of it by now, being constantly told to be afraid. That's no way to live.

8. Countries not on Dubya's "democracy" list: Egypt, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia
Kudos to former Senator Gary Hart for pointing this out on Larry King Friday night in answer to another panelist's praising Dubya's plan to make us safer by spreading democracy in the middle east and environs.
