Is Scottie Human?

I watched the press press the pressed little Scottie today on C-Span. Many other threads about the content (and it was **priceless**).

My question/observation here is about the little man himself.

Is Scott McLellan human? Don't humans display emotion? Scotty acts like either an automaton or a former human who's had an emotionectomy.

From what I've read, it's been pretty much called one of the most disgusting pieces of fanatasy ever written as fact. And wasn't his dad also convicted of forgery and quit the bar before he could be disbarred? Nice family tree to branch out from!

He's very human. Self-loathing (as evidenced by his work for the homophobe rightwing party) is a very human trait.

His boss would fire him. His job is to give non-answers, be unflappable, and repeat his non-answer no matter what the question or how it's asked.

I know that if I were in his position, I'd drink pretty heavily or use some other form of self-medication to keep the feelings of self-loathing at bay. Snottie may be that rare individual who completely compartmentalizes his life, and his daily press briefings are just another little thing he doesn't deal with in any other part of his life. At a guess, I'd say that stress is eating him up from inside, though.
