How to get burned. By: Karl Rove
I have been reading this board since the end of the 2004 election, however i have been reading about and watching Karl Rove since Bush Sr fired him.

Since the end of the election of 2004 we had a bunch of issues we thought that would take down Bush. We had Ohio Election Fraud, GannonGate, DSM, and now this. Im sure i missed a few too.

Every single time we say "This is it!! He is going down!". We make connections, we post 1000 messages, we contact our congressmen, and what happends? Poooof its gone..

The next question is why does this keep happening? Its very simple. We keep jumping from issue to issue and never focus on one thing. We go to the issue flavor of the month, eat that up and then on to the next. This months flavor is Karl Rove.

Do we really think Karl Rove is going to get indicted? LOL! Do you really think Karl Rove would allow this reporter to release his source (him) if he knew he would get indicted? You dont think Karl Rove thinks ahead?

Dont you people see that Karl Rove intentionally allowed the reporter to release his source to take the spotlight off Bolton, DSM, SCOTUS and other issues bubbling up. Its working to, when was the last time you saw a post about DSM?

Yes, yes look at me.. Karl Rove --- no no dont look over there... Look at me, im the evil one... Ignore the DSM... Ignore Boltons nomination, Ignore SCOTUS nominations... Im the evil one!! look at me!!

Karl Rove lives for this type of shit, we are going to get burned again on this because we always take the bait. We take the bait, he gets away with it, and the other issues just melt away in the chaos. Its back to Hurricans, This girl is missing, and what color lipstick Michael Jackson is using..

Why did Watergate work? Because we focused on it. Day in, Day out... watergate, watergate, watergate. We need to do this now. We need to focus on one issue. Keep pounding it.. Keep pushing it.

We were told Karl Rove would be indicted late lastweek or this week. We have till Friday. If he isnt indicted by Friday, come back to this post and type "I was burned!". Once 6:00pm Friday hits and there is no news "Karl Rove indicted", you just got burned by Karl Rove.

Again..

-- Joe

Don't jump off a bridge Friday. The astrologers think it will come Monday the 18th.

2. Wonder if the London Bombings were by us in retaliation for DSM?
I mean, it wasn't because they got the Olympics and the GS8 conference was in Scotland, not England. I'm sorry for England, I know some people there and hope they are fine.

3. I thought that...
I thought it was a little fishy myself. Now if we could connect to dots on that! That would take down this admin.

Karl wouldn't have released Cooper to talk if there were anything incriminating there. What you forgot is that Time, Inc. released all of Cooper's emails and notes to the Special Prosecutor just days before -- so Karl was outed at that point -- and O'Donnell stated so on the McLaughlin Group. It could then be proven that Rove was the culprit by the emails and notes without Cooper's testimony, so for Rove to refuse to release Cooper from confidentiality would just have made him look even worse to the press corps -- that he so depends on.

Remember, he didn't give this release while Cooper was fighting the contempt of court charge since last fall.

Rove has now lost the loyalty of the press corps because they know he would have let Cooper go to jail rather than release him, had not Time given up the notes and emails.

Which leads me to believe that he's Miller's source as well. And that she could burn him worse than Cooper.

5. AMEN
We can never agree either.. the party is soo diverse that this is also a weekness.

I have one thing though... we need to build a case with all these flavors of the week. Combined, they make a pretty good argument.

6. great argument
First off Micheal Jackson doesn't use lipstick he had his lips tattooed, ok? But besides that point I feel that your assessment on Rove is most likely his true motive for this. Why would he bother to allow Cooper to testify if it would hurt him? Yet your hearkening back to OEF, Gannongate and the DSM I feel were really red herrings. They didn't work because they were stupid and pointless exercise in futility. Who really cares about Jeff Gannon, we are forgetting the the White House press core is not an organization mandated by the constitution, so in reality Bush can get away with it. The Ohio thing was just recently proved to be a wash with the only real problems being few polling stations and long lines. (it was a pretty big turn out comparatively to previous elections, as well as the fact that these things are run on a very local level making preplanning poor in the best of situations). Lastly, the DSM is a potential problem for the BUSH team but it may just be something that we blinded ourselves with because we wanted it so badly to be true. So, really to refute my initial statement about Rove, who knows? The mind of Rove is a terrible, scary and complicated place. Only time will tell as the history unfolds in front of us, before we get the whole story.
