4. she's got some big reason for heading to the slammer
I don't think it's just for Rove. Joe Wilson said Scooter was the most often named potential outer in his book, I believe.

5. If she is Scooter's source she's probably scared she'll get
shanked in the slammer.

13. She's scared to testify.
In her own words. I personally think it's a sympathy ploy, but, to cross scooter...

2. Because, so far, his name hasn't been tied to anything.
Maybe Miller's source. Maybe Rove's source. Could be that Cheney told Scooter, and told him to spread the word. Scooter will escape any problems untill and unless his name gets tied to someone.

8. If Ms Miller has the info that ties the Plame case to Cheney..
that Club Fed she is in won't protect her life. It doesn't matter if she says that she won't spill. She will not be trusted to stay mum and will have to be silenced, period. She has been neck deep with the Bush Regime and RW orgs, so this theory is not tinfoil hat IMHO.

7. Maybe one of several. Remember, there were 6 initial leaks to the
press (as reported) and 3 confirmations. Since one source released his reporter/contact from the confidentiality aggreement, but another reporter (Miller) was not released, there are probably at least 2 sources, althoug one could have done it.

I'm hoping for multiple indictments against Rove (including criminal conspiracy for coordinating the leaks and confirmations) and at least one other (Scooter? Cheney?) for a second leaker.

Reasoning:

10. Heard on CNN Powell took CIA dossier which detailed Plame's role at CIA
on a trip to Africa with President Bush. I am waiting for the transcript from Inside Politics to post it. Thought this was very interesting to be dropped into the conversation on Rove possibly outing of Valerie Plame as CIA operative.

Found article about the Africa trip they were mentioning. Check the date!
Novak's article written on July 14, 2003. Rove spoke with Cooper several days prior.

Strategists hope Africa trip boosts Bush's standing with black voters

By Laurence McQuillan, USA TODAY

WASHINGTON — President Bush's five-nation trip to Africa last week was part of his subtle courtship of black Americans, a political constituency seldom wooed by Republican presidents. State Department and White House officials consider the trip an important diplomatic mission. GOP political strategists see it as a journey that could improve Bush's standing among African-Americans while highlighting centrist themes that also appeal to moderate whites.

The trip to Senegal, South Africa, Botswana, Uganda and Nigeria stressed the "compassionate" aspects of Bush's "compassionate conservative" agenda. His main themes: fighting the pandemic of AIDS, encouraging economic growth and protecting the world from terrorism.

Bush's return to the White House late Saturday ended a visit that began Tuesday with a tour of Senegal's infamous Goree Island, where slaves were shipped to the Americas. "The stolen sons and daughters of Africa helped to awaken the conscience of America," Bush said, setting the tone of his trip.

<>Secretary of State Colin Powell, who was with Bush in Africa, says the visit should not be viewed as a political exercise with black voters in mind. "It was designed to deal with real problems facing people in need in Africa," Powell said.

12. Fitzgerald isn't done yet. Be patient.
I believe this will go beyond Rove. I think this goes to conspiracy and espionage. Remember the scandal about Chalibi and how the code for our Iranian intercepts was leaked? I think there is a relationship and fitzgerald said that the case had widened. Judge Tatel, who ruled against Miller and Cooper said in his opinion that while he had considered supporting a shield for reporters here, the national security implications were far to great to do that.

It's going to be an interesting week (or year for that matter). I have been waiting for a long time for this to come to a head and while there is no guarantee we're at the end at least the press is getting stirred up.
